Office Chair Load-Bearing Test
Office chair load-bearing tests cover various types, with different test items and requirements under different standards.

Test Specifications under BIFMA Certification: The BIFMA (Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association) certification has detailed and stringent regulations for office chair load-bearing tests. The backrest static strength test is divided into functional load and standard load, with continuous pressure applied for 1 minute at 890 Newtons (200 pounds) and 1334 Newtons (300 pounds) respectively. The five-star base static test requires a pressure of 11120 Newtons (2500 pounds) for 1 minute with no significant changes to the main structure. In the dynamic impact test, weights of 102 KG (225 pounds) for functional load and 136 KG (300 pounds) for standard load are freely dropped from a height of 6 inches onto the center of the seat. The rotation test requires a load of 102 KG (225 pounds) to complete 60,000 rotations of 360 degrees. The tilt mechanism fatigue test involves a load of 102 KG (225 pounds) at the center of the seat, with no durability loss after 300,000 cycles. The impact test involves a weight of 57 KG (125 pounds) freely dropped from a height of 1 inch onto the seat, with no durability loss after 100,000 cycles of impact. The seat front foot fatigue test involves a load of 734 Newtons (165 pounds) at each front corner of the seat, with no durability loss after 20,000 cycles. The backward stability test involves a load of 79 KG (173 pounds) at the center of the seat, with a tipping force applied to the backrest until the total weight is transferred to the backward support. The forward stability test involves fixing the casters with a 13 MM barrier and applying a force of 600 Newtons (135 pounds) downward from a point 60 MM from the front edge of the chair center. The armrest vertical static strength test (functional load) involves applying a force of 890 Newtons at the lowest point of the armrest design.
Domestic Standard Requirements: According to QB/T 2280 - 2016, the domestic standard sets the official maximum suitable weight for office chairs at 102 kilograms (approximately 204 pounds). A qualified office chair must be designed to safely support users within this weight range, including all structures such as the armrests.
Actual Product Test Case: The Qingxian Maxis Pro office chair has passed the BIFMA X5.11 extreme-level test certification, including 113 kg impact and 159 kg repeated impact tests, as well as 159 kg load tilting for 300,000 times and 181 kg load rotation for 60,000 times.
