Office Chair Load-Bearing and Sturdy
The load-bearing capacity of general computer office chairs is around 100 - 200 kilograms, and it varies depending on the type and material of the office chair.

From the perspective of domestic standards, according to QB/T 2280 - 2016, the official maximum suitable body weight for office chairs set by domestic standards is 102 kilograms (about 204 pounds). All structures of a qualified office chair, including the armrests, must be able to safely support users within this weight range during the design process. This means that office chairs produced in accordance with the standards can ensure structural safety for people weighing less than 102 kilograms under normal use conditions.
In the actual market, some office chairs with better quality and sturdier structures may have a load-bearing capacity of up to 150 or even 200 kilograms. These office chairs usually adopt high-quality steel frames. Steel has high strength and toughness, enabling it to withstand relatively large pressures without deformation. At the same time, they are equipped with thick cushions. The cushions not only provide a comfortable sitting experience but also disperse the body weight to a certain extent, enhancing the overall load-bearing capacity of the chair. For example, some high-end ergonomic office chairs are more meticulous in design and material selection to meet the needs of users with different body types, thus having higher load-bearing performance.
For budget-friendly office chairs, the thickness of the metal tubes is one of the important factors affecting the load-bearing capacity. Generally, metal tubes with a thickness of more than 1.2 millimeters have sufficient load-bearing capacity, but these budget-friendly office chairs are not suitable for heavy-weight people. Because budget-friendly office chairs have relatively strict cost control. Although metal tubes of a certain thickness can provide some support, the overall structure and material durability are relatively limited. If heavy-weight people use them for a long time, it may accelerate the wear and damage of the chairs and even pose safety hazards.
