Office Chair Lifting Configuration
Admin October 10, 2026
The lifting configuration of office chairs mainly includes the types of lifting mechanisms, key components and safety designs, adjustment functions, and suitable scenarios, as detailed below:

Types of Lifting Mechanisms
- Electric Type: Utilizes an electric linear actuator (linear drive), consisting of a motor, push rod, and control unit. It supports remote operation and reciprocating lifting movements, suitable for scenarios requiring frequent height adjustments (such as smart office areas).
- Screw Type: Achieves position locking through self-locking of the screw pair. It has a simple structure but relatively low adjustment precision, commonly found in basic office chairs.
- Fixed Position Type: Secures the chair legs and seat together with screws, supporting only preset heights. It is suitable for scenarios with low flexibility requirements (such as fixed workstations).
- Gas Spring Type: The most common type, filled with high-pressure nitrogen gas inside. It consists of a cylinder, piston rod, etc., and achieves height adjustment through gas pressure regulation, offering convenient operation and moderate cost.
Key Components and Safety Design
- Gas Spring: Must comply with safety certification standards (e.g., the highest safety factor of level 4). Some products carry certification marks such as SGS and TUV. Regular products are equipped with an anti-explosion steel plate with a thickness of no less than 2mm between the gas rod and the seat to prevent explosion risks caused by abnormal gas pressure.
- Chair Legs: Usually made of metal materials such as oval steel tubes to ensure a sturdy structure. Products with strong load-bearing capacity can reach up to 150 kilograms. Overloading should be avoided.
- Sealing and Maintenance: During long-term storage, avoid applying pressure to the gas rod. Regularly check the sealing of the gas rod, the flexibility of the wheels, and the lubrication of the bearings to extend the service life.
Adjustment Functions and Experience Optimization
- Core Function: Height adjustment is the basic function of lifting chairs, which can accommodate the sitting posture needs of people of different heights and reduce fatigue from prolonged sitting.
- Additional Adjustments: Some products offer multi-dimensional adjustment functions, such as backrest height adjustment (e.g., the Jingdong Jingzao Z5 Pro supports a 50mm adjustable backrest), headrest and armrest adjustments (e.g., the Songneng Y8A ergonomic chair has a 2D headrest and 3D armrests), adapting to different usage scenarios (such as office work and rest).
- Rotation and Mobility: The bottom bearing enables 360-degree free rotation, and the silent wheel design reduces movement noise, enhancing usage flexibility.
Suitable Scenarios and Selection Recommendations
- Employee Workstations: Balance cost and durability, prioritizing cast iron bases and engineering plastic armrests to meet the needs of frequent use.
- Home Office: Pay attention to the combination of electric lifting desks and ergonomic chairs (such as the Songneng set), which combines storage and posture management to enhance comfort.
- Safety First: When purchasing, confirm the certification marks on the gas spring and avoid choosing unbranded or low-quality products at low prices to reduce safety risks.
