Office Chair Lifting Chair
The lifting chair among office chairs is a functional seat that adjusts the height of the seat plate through a lifting and positioning device, commonly found in offices, homes, and barber shops.

I. Types of Lifting Chairs Lifting chairs are mainly divided into pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical types, with other types such as screw-type also existing. Pneumatic lifting chairs use high-pressure nitrogen gas cylinders to achieve smooth lifting and lowering. The principle involves adjusting the height through the compression and release of nitrogen gas within the cylinder, offering convenient operation and smooth lifting. Hydraulic lifting chairs control height through the principle of liquid pressure, typically featuring a more complex structure but higher stability. Mechanical lifting chairs rely on mechanical structures such as gears and threads for height adjustment, offering strong durability but relatively laborious operation.
II. Core Components and Adjustment Methods The core components of a lifting chair include the seat plate, backrest, support frame, support frame rocker arm, lifting and positioning device, and chair legs. The support frame and chair legs are hinged through the support frame rocker arm, rotating up and down around the hinge axis to achieve lifting. Some models of backrests (such as the JD.COM Jingzao Z5 Pro and Sihoo C300 Second Generation Lite) support independent up and down adjustment, catering to the lumbar support needs of people of different heights.
III. Safety Risks and Preventive Measures Pneumatic lifting chairs pose an explosion risk if inferior pressure rods are used (such as those with insufficient nitrogen purity or thin tube walls). The purity of nitrogen gas filled in the pressure rod needs to be higher than 90%. If the purity is insufficient or the seal is not tight, it may lead to gas eruption or tube wall rupture. Inadequate tube wall material (such as insufficient thickness or low strength) also increases the probability of explosion. Preventive measures include:
- Choose products with safety certifications such as SGS and TUV;
- Prioritize purchasing models equipped with explosion-proof steel plates, which can block fragments in the event of a pressure rod explosion;
- Avoid frequent lifting and lowering, overloading, or disassembling the pressure rod by yourself;
- Regularly inspect the seal and appearance integrity of the pressure rod.
IV. Usage Recommendations During daily use, keep the lifting chair on a stable surface to avoid tilting or violent shaking. When adjusting the height, operate slowly to prevent sudden changes in internal pressure of the pressure rod. If you notice lifting stuttering, abnormal noises, or rust on the surface of the pressure rod, stop using it immediately and contact after-sales service for inspection and repair.
