Office Chair Lifting Accessories

Admin October 10, 2026

The lifting accessories for office chairs mainly include core components such as gas lift cylinders (gas rods), bases, and chair legs, whose functions and designs directly affect the user experience and safety of the chairs.

Gas Lift Cylinders (Gas Rods): The Core of Lifting Function

The gas lift cylinder is a key component for achieving height adjustment in office chairs. It is filled with high-pressure nitrogen gas and works in conjunction with a small push valve at the top and a height adjustment lever to enable smooth lifting and lowering of the seat. Gas rods are typically classified into three or four grades, with higher grades offering longer lifting strokes and wider applicability. For example, a four-grade gas rod can meet the precise height adjustment needs of users of different heights. Additionally, to enhance safety, some gas rods feature explosion-proof designs that reduce the risk of bursting due to abnormal air pressure by increasing wall thickness or optimizing sealing structures.

Bases: The Hub for Connection and Adjustment

The base is an important structure that connects the gas rod to the seat. Its function is not limited to fixation but also includes adjustment features such as reclining and rotation. Multi-functional bases often integrate modules for reclining lock and rotation damping adjustment. Users can control the reclining angle of the seat (e.g., 90ยฐ-135ยฐ) or rotation resistance through knobs or levers on the base, adapting to different scenarios such as office work and rest. Some high-end bases are also equipped with synchronous tilting functions that allow the backrest and seat to move in tandem, enhancing ergonomic comfort.

Chair Legs: The Foundation for Support and Stability

The type of chair legs directly affects the stability and mobility of the chair. Common chair legs include five-star and four-star designs, with materials mostly being nylon or aluminum alloy. Five-star legs offer better stability than four-star legs due to their more evenly distributed five-claw design, making them suitable for hard floors. Aluminum alloy chair legs, on the other hand, are often used in high-end office chairs due to their high strength and light weight. Additionally, some chair legs are equipped with silent wheels that reduce movement noise and protect floors by optimizing wheel materials (e.g., PU wheels) or bearing structures.

Other Auxiliary Accessories

In addition to core components, the lifting system of office chairs also includes auxiliary accessories such as height adjustment levers and dust covers. The height adjustment lever is usually located beneath the seat and controls the lifting and lowering of the gas rod through pressing or rotation. The dust cover wraps around the top of the gas rod to prevent dust from entering and affecting its service life. Although these accessories are small, they are crucial for improving operational convenience and equipment durability.
