Office Chair Lift Warranty
The warranty for the lifting function of office chairs is usually covered under the warranty for major components, with specific rules as follows:

I. Warranty Period
The warranty period for office chairs varies depending on the brand, product type, and positioning. The common warranty period for major components is 1-3 years, with products that have high usage frequency and complex structures (such as ergonomic chairs) generally having a warranty period of 2-3 years. Some first-tier brands offer extended warranties for core components separately. For example, the gas lift (pneumatic rod) of high-end office chairs can enjoy a 5-year warranty, and key components such as the base mechanism may also be extended accordingly.
II. Warranty Scope
Under normal use, lifting function failures caused by material or workmanship defects are covered by the warranty. This specifically includes:
- Gas lift malfunctions: Such as air leakage, lifting stuttering, or inability to adjust height;
- Base mechanism damage: Such as malfunctioning adjustment knobs, worn internal gears, etc.;
- Loose or broken connectors: Failure of fixed components due to design defects.
It should be noted that the warranty scope usually only covers damage caused by non-human factors, and valid purchase documents (such as invoices, warranty cards) are required to confirm the warranty period.
III. Non-Warranty Scope
The following situations leading to lifting function damage usually do not qualify for warranty coverage:
- Improper installation or operation: Such as not following the instructions for installation, violent height adjustment;
- Accidental impact or overloading: Such as the chair being crushed by heavy objects, carrying loads exceeding the rated weight (usually 100-150kg);
- Self-disassembly or modification: Damage to components caused by unauthorized repairs;
- Environmental factors: Such as component corrosion caused by long-term exposure to humid or high-temperature environments.
IV. Support from the Three Guarantees Policy
According to the "Regulations on the Repair, Replacement, and Return Responsibilities for Certain Commodities" (the Three Guarantees Policy), within the validity period of the Three Guarantees, if the lifting function of an office chair has non-human-caused damage, consumers can take it to designated repair points for free repairs with valid documents. If the same problem still cannot be used normally after two repairs, a replacement or return can be requested.
Suggestion: When purchasing, prioritize brands that offer extended warranty services and keep the purchase documents well. Avoid overloading or violent operation during use, and regularly check the status of the gas lift and base mechanism to extend the service life.
