Explanation of Office Chair Legs
The most common type of office chair legs on the market is the five-star base, which is mainly made of three materials: nylon, steel, and aluminum alloy, each with its own characteristics.

Five-star base office chairs have a large contact area with the ground and good stability, making them a common choice in office settings. Six-star bases, while safer, are less convenient to move around and prone to hitting feet, so they are less commonly used.
Nylon chair legs: Nylon, also known as 'polyamide', is a type of synthetic fiber. It has many excellent properties, such as abrasion resistance, strong corrosion resistance, high strength, light weight, and affordability. The material used to make nylon chair legs undergoes high-strength treatment and is commonly used in automotive engine components and aerospace equipment parts. In terms of human weight, its safety and sturdiness are fully guaranteed, meeting the needs of daily office use.
Steel chair legs: Steel chair legs have higher strength than nylon legs but are also much heavier and have relatively higher manufacturing costs. Since steel itself does not have corrosion-resistant properties, its surface is usually electroplated. Compared to plastic legs, steel legs have significant advantages in terms of impact resistance and load-bearing capacity, and are less likely to deform or break under heavy loads or frequent movement. However, when used with casters on soft floors, they may cause damage to the floor due to high pressure, so floor protection should be noted during use.
Aluminum alloy chair legs: Aluminum alloy has advantages such as corrosion resistance, low density, high strength, good plasticity, and suitability for forging. Among the three types of chair leg materials, aluminum alloy chair legs are the most expensive but have the best load-bearing capacity and are environmentally friendly and recyclable. Therefore, they are more commonly used in mid-to-high-end office chairs and ergonomic chairs, providing users with more stable and comfortable support while adhering to environmental protection concepts.
