Office Chair Leg Replacement

Admin October 19, 2026

The replacement of the legs (footrests) of office chairs should be carried out according to the extent of damage, as detailed below:

For the footrests of the Sihoo C series (e.g., C300/C500), prepare tools such as foam pads and screwdrivers before replacement. First, place the chair on a flat surface and place foam under the footrest to prevent scratches on the chair surface or floor. Use a screwdriver to remove the three screws securing the footrest (usually located at the connection between the footrest and the chair body). After removing the old footrest, align the new footrest with the mounting holes and tighten the three screws sequentially to complete the replacement. Ensure that the screw specifications match the original parts to avoid instability due to size mismatches.

If the footrest is severely damaged (e.g., broken or deformed beyond repair), contact the manufacturer or retailer to purchase compatible replacement parts. Provide information such as the chair model, footrest size, and material before purchasing to ensure compatibility with the original chair. After receiving the parts, you can follow the above steps to replace them yourself or contact a professional repair technician to avoid secondary damage caused by improper operation.

For minor damage (e.g., loose or missing screws), inspect the connection between the footrest and the chair. If the screws are loose, tighten them with a screwdriver; if the screws are missing, purchase screws of the same specifications (e.g., M4 or M5 hex screws) for installation. Ensure that the screws are fully screwed in during installation to prevent the footrest from wobbling.

If the footrest is wooden and broken, it can be glued with wood glue. After cleaning the broken surfaces, apply wood glue evenly, align the two parts, and clamp them firmly. Allow the glue to dry completely (usually 24 hours) before use. If the footrest is made of plastic and broken, use plastic-specific glue (e.g., AB glue) for adhesion. Keep the broken surfaces dry and free of oil during operation. After applying the glue, quickly align and press the parts together to prevent glue overflow from staining the chair surface.

Precautions: Disconnect the chair's power supply (if it is an electrically adjustable model) before replacing the footrest to avoid electric shock during operation; if the footrest is connected to the chair body with clips, gently pull the clips during replacement to avoid damage; after self-replacement, test the stability of the footrest to ensure there is no wobbling or abnormal noise.
