The Leather of the Office Chair is Damaged
Admin October 14, 2026
When the leather of an office chair is damaged, it can be dealt with through leather repair and daily maintenance.

Leather Repair
- Choose the right repair products: Select appropriate products based on the extent of the damage. For minor scratches or uneven color, repair agents or leather dyes can be used. Repair agents are effective for small cracks and scratches, while leather dyes can adjust uneven color. For larger cracks, repair paste is more suitable. If there are stains on the chair, first use a cleaning and care set to clean the stains and moisturize.
- Master repair tips: Before repairing, do a good job of cleaning. Use a soft cloth dipped in a cleaning agent to wipe off dust and stains on the chair. Wait for the surface to dry completely before proceeding with the repair. For small scratches, simply apply the repair agent. For larger cracks, first fill them with repair paste, let it dry completely, then sand it, and finally apply a protective oil.
- Repair tips for chairs of different materials: Full-leather seats require professional leather repair products. When choosing repair agents for faux leather or PU seats, be targeted to avoid excessive use that may affect breathability. For chairs with a fabric-leather combination, prioritize repairing the leather part. If the repair is difficult, seek professional help when necessary.
- Edge oil pen repair method: This method is cost-effective and has good results. First, pre-process the broken edge. Use a utility knife to cut the raised edge into a 45ยฐ bevel and clean the surface. Then, use leather soft glue to repair the detached part. If the crack is large, pad it with non-woven fabric for better adhesion. Avoid using 502 glue. Next, apply a special edge oil that matches the leather color in layers, and blow-dry each layer with cold air. If the leather damage area exceeds 5cmยฒ or involves multi-layer structural tears, it is recommended to use the "patching method" or contact a professional repair team.
Daily Maintenance
- Pay attention to cleaning and protection: To reduce corrosion, avoid exposing the leather chair to corrosive items. Regularly use a spray to protect leather goods for maintenance, which can extend the service life of the chair.
- Relocate the chair: Place the chair in a corner or against a wall where it is less likely to be touched, reducing the risk of being bumped while walking or being scratched by sharp objects.
