Friction of Office Chair Leather
Friction of office chair leather can be resolved through targeted measures, as follows:

If the friction sound originates from the seams between the leather and plastic parts or the gaps between the backrest and seat cushion, it is usually due to an increased friction coefficient after long-term use. In this case, use the lubricant specially provided by the manufacturer. This type of lubricant has the characteristics of low viscosity and high-temperature resistance, which can effectively reduce friction without causing damage to the leather. When applying, ensure that all contact surfaces are covered, including easily overlooked areas such as edge seams and folds. After application, open and close the chair several times repeatedly to allow the lubricant to fully penetrate into all parts, thereby reducing friction and eliminating abnormal sounds.
When the genuine leather surface is dry or the seat cushion is too hard, direct friction between the leathers can also easily produce abnormal sounds. In response to this situation, a special leather lubricant can be used. It contains natural oil components that can soften the leather, make the leather surface smoother, and thus reduce friction. If the abnormal sound persists after using the leather lubricant, a layer of flocking adhesive can be attached to the contact surface. The fluff on the surface of the flocking adhesive can reduce the friction coefficient and also act as a buffer, further reducing the friction between the leathers and eliminating abnormal sounds.
In addition, improper cleaning methods can also cause friction sounds in leather seats. For example, when cleaning the leather surface, if the cleaner is directly sprayed onto the leather, the liquid can easily seep into the seams. After drying, it will become sticky, resulting in louder friction sounds. The correct cleaning method is to wipe the leather surface with a wrung-out damp cloth. This can remove dust and stains without allowing the liquid to seep into the seams, avoiding friction sounds caused by improper cleaning.
