Office Chair Leather Color Repair
The color repair of office chair leather can be carried out according to the following steps, and attention should be paid to details during operation to ensure the repair effect:

1. Clean the surface
Gently wipe the leather surface with a soft cleaning cloth (such as a microfiber cloth) to remove dust, oil stains, and other impurities. For stubborn stains, a small amount of special leather cleaner can be used for assistance, but cleaners containing alcohol or strong chemical components should be avoided to prevent damage to the leather. After cleaning, ensure that the surface is completely dry; otherwise, it will affect the adhesion of subsequent repair materials.
2. Sanding treatment
Gently sand the discolored, cracked, or rough areas with fine sandpaper (such as 400-600 grit) to remove the aged layer and make the surface flat, facilitating the penetration and adhesion of repair materials. Control the sanding force to avoid excessive wear that may thin or damage the leather, especially paying attention to the edges and seams. After sanding, remove the residual powder with a dry cloth.
3. Color matching and testing
Select special leather repair dyes or repair liquids according to the leather material (such as natural leather, artificial leather) and the original color tone. Be sure to conduct a small-area test in an inconspicuous place (such as the lower part of the chair back) to observe whether the color matches the original leather and whether there is color difference or fading after drying. If the color does not match, adjust the dye ratio or replace the product.
4. Apply repair materials evenly
Use a sponge, fine brush, or special tool to evenly apply the dye/repair liquid to the discolored area, following the principle of 'small amounts multiple times' to avoid an uneven color or clumping caused by an excessively thick coating applied at once. When applying, use a circular or patting motion to allow the material to fully penetrate the leather texture. If multiple layers are required, wait for the previous layer to dry completely before applying the next layer.
5. Drying and fixing
According to the product instructions, air-dry naturally or use a hot air blower (keeping a distance of 20-30 cm) to accelerate drying. Avoid direct high-temperature blowing to prevent leather deformation or dye cracking. Some repair liquids need to fix the color with a hot air gun (low-temperature setting). When operating, move the tool evenly to prevent local overheating.
6. Polishing and maintenance
After drying, use a clean soft cloth dipped in a small amount of leather polish or maintenance oil to gently wipe the repaired area to restore the leather's luster and enhance its flexibility. Avoid using maintenance products containing silicon to prevent long-term residue from hardening the leather. Regular maintenance can extend the duration of the repair effect.
Precautions:
- It is recommended to wear gloves before repair to avoid dye staining the skin.
- If the leather is severely damaged (such as large-area cracking), use leather repair paste to fill the cracks first and then repair the color.
- Avoid using the office chair within 24 hours after repair to ensure that the materials are completely cured.
