Office Chair Leather Care
The following methods can be referred to for office chair leather care:

I. Preparing Tools Professional care products should be purchased in advance, including genuine leather cleaner, leather care oil or special leather protective fluid, and maintenance oil (which can be bought through e-commerce platforms). For stubborn stains, additional neutral dishwashing detergent, a soft-bristled brush, cotton swabs, and a spray bottle of purified water can be prepared. Before cleaning, be sure to test the leather for color fading in an inconspicuous area to avoid causing large-scale damage by direct use.
II. Daily Cleaning Daily maintenance mainly focuses on dust removal. Simply wipe the leather surface gently with a slightly damp soft towel. This method can remove shallow dirt such as dust and dander. Avoid using rough cloth or applying excessive force to prevent scratching the leather surface.
III. Deep Cleaning
- Stubborn Stain Treatment:
- First, gently wipe off the floating oil with a slightly damp warm towel. Then, dilute the neutral dishwashing detergent at a ratio of 1:10 or directly use a special leather cleaner. Gently wipe the stained area with a soft cloth in a circular motion. Immediately absorb the moisture with a dry towel after cleaning to prevent the liquid from seeping into the leather.
- For crevices or hard-to-reach areas, squeeze the cleaner onto the surface of the brush, wipe it, then remove the excess liquid with a towel. Use cotton swabs to clean the details, and finally, wipe off the residual cleaner with a spray bottle of purified water.
- Precautions:
- Avoid using cleaners containing alcohol, solvents, or strong alkalis, as these substances can accelerate leather aging.
- After cleaning, ensure that the leather surface is completely dry (about 2-3 hours) before proceeding with subsequent maintenance steps.
IV. Maintenance and Polishing After the leather is completely dry, apply a special leather protective fluid or maintenance oil to form a protective layer to prevent dirt from penetrating again and delay leather cracking and aging. The specific operation can be divided into two steps:
- Basic Maintenance: Use genuine leather moisturizing cream to moisturize the leather surface and enhance its flexibility.
- Deep Maintenance: Apply genuine leather BB cream conditioner and press it evenly with the palm of your hand to allow the nutrients to penetrate. Then, cover it with plastic wrap and let it sit for 30 minutes to promote absorption. Finally, wipe off the excess conditioner with a towel to avoid a sticky feeling caused by residue.
V. Long-term Maintenance Suggestions
- Avoid direct sunlight or high-temperature environments to prevent the leather from fading and hardening.
- Perform a complete maintenance every 3-6 months regularly, and adjust the cycle according to the frequency of use.
- If there are slight scratches on the leather surface, gently massage the scratched area with your fingertips to promote the leather's self-repair.
