Office Chair Knob Usage
The knobs on office chairs have various functions, mainly including adjusting the dynamic lumbar support, backrest tilt resistance, height or angle of the gas lift, backrest hardness, chair height, and locking or unlocking functions.

Adjusting the dynamic lumbar support: The dynamic lumbar support adjuster (a round knob) located at the lower right corner of the backrest is a crucial component. Properly activating the lumbar support can share 48% of the intervertebral disc load, effectively reducing lumbar pressure. When using it, you need to make fine adjustments while sitting until your lower back is firmly supported, and the apex of the lumbar support precisely aligns with the most concave part of your lumbar spine (the intersection point of your thumbs when you place your hands on your hips). Turning the knob clockwise tightens the support, while turning it counterclockwise loosens it. However, it should be noted that 90% of users tend to turn it in the wrong direction.
Adjusting the backrest tilt resistance: By turning the knob clockwise to tighten it, the backrest will be more stable when reclining, which is suitable for work scenarios where you need to maintain an upright sitting posture. Turning the knob counterclockwise to loosen it makes the backrest easier to recline, which is suitable for relaxation or lunch breaks. For high-end chairs with a rocking function, adjusting the knob to a specific position allows the backrest to swing freely, providing a more comfortable experience.
Controlling the height or angle of the gas lift: The gas lift in an ergonomic chair is filled with high-pressure nitrogen. The knob can be used to adjust the chair's height, angle, or spring force to meet the needs of users with different weights. The knobs on ordinary computer chairs may have relatively simple functions, only allowing adjustments to the basic height or tilt angle.
Adjusting the backrest hardness: Turning the knob clockwise makes the chair's backrest harder, providing stronger support, which is suitable for users who need to sit for long periods. Turning it counterclockwise makes the backrest softer, offering more flexible support, which is suitable for scenarios where you need to change your sitting posture frequently.
Adjusting the chair height: You can easily adjust the chair height by rotating the lever up or down. Rotating it upwards raises the chair, while rotating it downwards lowers it, meeting the needs of users of different heights.
Locking or unlocking function: Pushing the lever inwards locks the chair, fixing its current state and preventing accidental movement. Pulling the lever outwards unlocks it, allowing the chair to be adjustable again.
