Office Chair Introduction
Admin October 14, 2026
Office chairs are chairs equipped for convenience during daily work and social activities. They can be classified into narrow and broad senses, and differ in materials and functions.

Classification
- Narrow sense: Refers to the backrest chairs used by people when performing desk work in a sitting position.
- Broad sense: Refers to all chairs used in offices, including executive chairs, staff chairs, etc. Computer chairs are specifically designed for office and study scenarios, aiming to alleviate fatigue from prolonged sitting through ergonomic design. They are mainly divided into types such as work chairs, student chairs, and mid-back chairs. Ordinary office chairs have a simple structure with fixed backrests and lumbar supports, suitable for temporary office work, meetings, or occasional use, and are relatively inexpensive. Ergonomic office chairs are designed for prolonged sitting, with adjustable headrests, lumbar supports, armrests, and seat cushions that can distribute body weight and reduce fatigue and discomfort caused by prolonged sitting.
Materials
- Fabric: Hemp chairs are commonly used in work chairs, staff chairs, and mid-back chairs; mesh chairs offer strong breathability, suitable for prolonged sitting, and are widely used in staff chairs; leather chairs are mostly used in executive chairs, with options for genuine or faux leather; anti-static chairs feature anti-static treatment on their surfaces or use anti-static accessories and fabrics; rubber band chairs use natural rubber bands as materials, offering good breathability and heat dissipation, high comfort, and antibacterial and anti-mite properties.
- Chair legs: Include nylon and aluminum alloy structures, which must meet load-bearing and durability standards.
Functions
- Ordinary computer chairs: Usually only meet the needs of ordinary users for short-term internet use and other activities.
- Ergonomic computer chairs: Adopt ergonomic design to make the usage as suitable as possible for the natural form of the human body, reducing fatigue caused by using tools. They must meet conditions such as adjustable headrests, armrests that can be raised, lowered, and adjusted at multiple levels, backrests that better fit the back, lifting functions, seat cushions with lengths and widths and chair heights customized according to the user group, thickened explosion-proof steel plates, and air pressure rods certified by SGS international standards.
A good office chair should prioritize comfort, support, and durability as key indicators, not only relieving pressure on the lower back but also improving sitting posture.
