Office Chair Interview
The selection of office chairs requires comprehensive consideration of factors such as appearance, comfort, ergonomic design, and brand philosophy.

Appearance and immediate comfort are not reliable indicators of long-term comfort. A consumer experience experiment conducted by the Zhejiang Furniture and Hardware Research Institute revealed that in the first round of voting, a chair priced at 12,800 yuan received the highest number of votes due to its appearance and immediate comfort. However, after a blindfolded selection, its votes plummeted to just one, while the chair originally ranked third surpassed it. This indicates that consumers are easily attracted by appearance, but long-term comfort needs to be verified through actual sitting experience and cannot be judged solely based on first impressions. Additionally, pressure distribution tests showed that a chair priced at 380 yuan had twice the excessive seat pressure, which could lead to fatigue or health issues with long-term use, further demonstrating that low-priced products may sacrifice core functionality.
Ergonomic design is the core of enhancing comfort. Ye Xingwei, General Manager of Xinwei International Home Furnishings, emphasized that chair design needs to integrate knowledge from multiple disciplines such as ergonomics, materials science, and mechanics. Their products are based on eight ergonomic diagrams that simulate muscle states under different sitting postures, ensuring that the chairs can accommodate people of various heights and weights, enhancing inclusivity and adaptability. This design philosophy reduces prolonged sitting pressure by scientifically supporting the body's curves and is a key criterion for measuring chair quality.
Functional innovation and health concepts meet diverse needs. Archimedes has introduced a zero-gravity office chair that draws inspiration from the principles used by astronauts to counteract gravity in space. It features a cushioning support system that offers a 'space micro-recline working mode' and a 'space lie-down resting mode', combining leisure and office scenarios. Its channel construction focuses on customer experience, with experience centers detecting physical conditions and explaining healthy sitting postures to strengthen brand-consumer interaction. This innovation not only enhances product value but also aligns with modern people's pursuit of healthy office environments.
Industry trends point towards brand and product upgrades. Chen Min, General Manager of Archimedes, pointed out that the home furnishings industry is transitioning from an era of material scarcity to a stage of quality upgrading, with consumers raising their expectations for brands and products. Domestic brands, with a better understanding of the work habits and pain points of Chinese people, have an advantage in solving practical problems. In the future, they need to drive the industry towards high-end development through technological innovation and experience optimization.
