Office Chair Intensive Cleaning

Admin October 17, 2026

Office chair intensive cleaning can be carried out in a targeted manner by dividing it into three parts: casters, wheels, and the overall chair.

I. Caster Cleaning

  1. Disassembly: Turn the office chair upside down. Grasp the caster bracket with your hand and pull out the casters (if they are stuck, use a flat-head screwdriver with a soft cloth to pry the edge of the clip). Check each caster one by one and remove any trapped hair, debris, etc.
  2. Deep Cleaning: Use tweezers to pick out long hairs and other residues stuck in the gaps of the casters. Dip an old toothbrush in a small amount of neutral detergent and gently brush the surface of the casters and the gaps in the bearings (be careful to avoid getting water into the bearings). Then rinse the surface with clean water, dry it with a dry cloth, and let it air dry for 10 minutes.
  3. Lubrication and Reassembly: Drop 1 - 2 drops of special lubricating oil for office equipment onto the bearings and rotate the casters to distribute the oil evenly. Align the casters with the clips on the bracket and push them in. After hearing a 'click' sound, turn the office chair back upright and test if the casters roll smoothly. If there is still stuttering, check for any remaining debris.

II. Wheel Dirt Cleaning

  1. Tool Preparation: Take a used facial cloth, soak it in clean water, and let it air dry until slightly damp. Use its uneven surface to increase friction.
  2. Wrapping and Fixing: Wrap the facial cloth around the wheels and secure it with rubber bands to ensure full coverage of the wheel surface.
  3. Moving Cleaning: Sit on the chair and move back and forth. Use the friction between the wheels and the facial cloth to remove dirt. Repeat this process several times until the dirt is reduced. Finally, wipe the floor with a dry cloth to avoid leaving water or dirt stains.

III. Overall Intensive Cleaning

  1. Comprehensive Dusting: Use a vacuum cleaner equipped with a crevice tool to thoroughly remove floating dust from the surface of the office chair, debris in the gaps, and dust in the fabric fibers. This prevents the spread of stains during subsequent cleaning.
  2. Foam Penetration: Spray a professional foam cleaner to cover fabric areas such as the seat and backrest. Let it sit for 5 - 10 minutes to allow the cleaner to fully penetrate the fibers and break down deep-seated stains.
  3. High-Temperature Treatment: Use a high-temperature steam device (such as a garment steamer) to disinfect the office chair. This not only kills bacteria but also softens stubborn stains through high heat, improving the cleaning effect.

Precautions: Before cleaning, confirm the material of the office chair (such as leather, fabric, metal, etc.) to avoid using corrosive cleaners. Choose the appropriate type of lubricating oil to prevent damage to the bearings. When performing high-temperature treatment, maintain an appropriate distance to avoid burns or damage to the material.
