Office Chair Installation Site

Admin October 16, 2026

The installation site of an office chair typically involves the following steps:

  1. Install the casters and five-star base
Insert the five casters one by one into the corresponding holes of the five-star base, ensuring that each caster is fully embedded and rotates smoothly. This step is the foundation of the office chair's mobility function. It is necessary to check the compatibility between the casters and the five-star base to avoid installation failure or detachment during use due to size mismatch.

  2. Install the gas lift
Insert the gas lift vertically into the central hole of the five-star base, ensuring that the bottom of the gas lift is tightly attached to the five-star base. The gas lift is the core component for adjusting the seat height. When installing, keep it vertical to avoid abnormal air pressure function or seat wobbling caused by tilting.

  3. Install the seat plate
Align the seat plate with the top of the gas lift and fix it with screws (usually 4 M620mm or M625mm screws). The seat plate supports the main body of the seat. Ensure that the screws are tightened to the specified torque to prevent loosening after long-term use. Some seat plates need to have their tilt angles adjusted in advance according to the instructions.

  4. Install the armrests

    • Fix the left and right armrests: Use 6 M825mm screws or 2 M620mm screws (with washers) to fix the upper and lower parts of the armrests respectively. The screws need to pass through the holes of the armrests and connect to the seat plate or the side panels of the seat. Pay attention to distinguishing the directions of the left and right armrests to avoid installing them backward.
    • Connect the armrests to the backrest: Use 2 M825mm or 4 M625mm screws to fix the armrests to the side panels of the backrest, ensuring that there are no gaps at the connection points. This step affects the stability of the armrests, so check whether the screws are fully screwed in.
  5. Install the headrest
Insert the headrest into the reserved hole at the top of the backrest and fix it with 2 M620mm or M630mm screws. Some headrests need to have their height or angle adjusted. After installation, adjust them according to your needs and confirm that the screws are tightened to prevent the headrest from sliding.

  6. Install the decorative covers
Finally, cover the screw holes or connection points with decorative covers to conceal the exposed components and enhance the aesthetics. The decorative covers are usually of a snap-on design. Press them firmly to ensure a complete fit and avoid leaving gaps.

Precautions:

  • Before installation, check the specifications and quantity of the screws to avoid using the wrong ones, which may lead to an unstable structure.
  • It is recommended to use an electric screwdriver or a manual wrench to ensure that the screws are tightened to the appropriate force.
  • After installation, test whether all functions (such as height adjustment, tilting, and caster rotation) are normal to eliminate potential faults.
