Office Chair Installation - Lifting Chair
Admin October 09, 2026
The installation of a lifting chair among office chairs is usually quite simple, and generally, no screws are needed throughout the entire process. Here are the detailed installation steps and precautions:

I. Pre-installation Preparation
- Unpacking and Sorting: When using a utility knife to open the packaging, pay attention to operational safety. Hold the cardboard with your left hand and cut the packaging with your right hand. Do not press the utility knife against the cardboard to cut, so as to avoid scratching the components inside.
- Component Verification: The components of a lifting chair generally include a swivel chair base, a pneumatic rod, 5 caster wheels, and a seat with a chassis. For some chairs, the chassis part may have been installed by the manufacturer, while for others, it needs to be fixed by yourself.
II. Specific Installation Steps
- Installing Caster Wheels: Directly snap the 5 caster wheels into the corresponding holes on the swivel chair base. Apply a certain amount of force to ensure a secure installation.
- Installing the Decorative Cover: Snap the decorative cover onto the base to enhance aesthetics and provide protection.
- Placing the Pneumatic Rod: Place the pneumatic rod vertically into the central hole of the base to ensure its stability.
- Installing the Seat Chassis: If the chassis has not been installed by the manufacturer, align the pneumatic rod with the hole on the chassis, gently place it in, and rotate it to check if it is properly positioned. For some chairs, pay attention to the installation direction of the lifting lever. The lever for controlling the lifting is usually located on the right-hand side when sitting down.
- Function Testing: After installation, sit on the chair and test whether all functions are normal. For example, control the lifting using the lever on the right-hand side: lift the lever to raise the chair and move your buttocks away; lift the lever and then rely on your body weight to press the chair down for lowering.
III. Function Adjustment Instructions
- Lifting Function: A pneumatic lifting chair achieves height adjustment through the movement of the piston rod inside the cylinder, which is common in office settings.
- Swinging Function: Some chairs have a swinging function. The control lever is usually located on the left side when sitting. Pulling out the lever allows the chair to swing, while pushing it in makes the chair immobile like an ordinary chair.
IV. Precautions
- Ensure that all components are properly installed during the installation process to avoid looseness or detachment.
- Be careful when using a utility knife to avoid scratching the components or yourself.
- If you have any questions about the installation steps, refer to the product manual or contact the manufacturer's customer service.
