Office Chair Installation and Packaging

Admin October 14, 2026

The installation and packaging of office chairs should follow standardized procedures to ensure safety and integrity.

Installation Steps

  1. Preparation: Check that all components (five-star base, wheels, gas lift, seat cushion, backrest, armrests, headrest, screws) are complete and undamaged. Prepare tools such as Phillips/flathead screwdrivers and Allen wrenches.
  2. Install Five-Star Base and Wheels: Insert the five wheels into the five-star base (some are threaded). Ensure that the clips or threads are fully secured.
  3. Install Gas Lift: Insert it vertically into the center hole of the five-star base. If there is a protective cap on top, remove it first.
  4. Install Seat Base and Cushion: Use screws to fix the metal base to the bottom of the seat cushion (pay attention to the โ€œFrontโ€ arrow direction). Then, place the seat assembly steadily on top of the gas lift.
  5. Install Backrest: Align the connection holes at the back of the backrest with those on the seat cushion (or base). Manually pre-install all screws first, and then tighten them simultaneously with tools after confirming hole alignment.
  6. Install Armrests: Distinguish between left and right armrests, align them with the reserved holes on both sides of the seat cushion, and fix them with screws.
  7. Install Headrest: Insert the support rod into the reserved hole at the top of the backrest. Secure it with screws or complete the installation via buttons/clips.
  8. Overall Debugging: Check the firmness of all components, test whether the lifting function is smooth, and try the recline adjustment to ensure normal functionality.

Packaging Steps

  1. Preparation: Prepare tools such as bubble wrap, stretch wrap, cardboard boxes (recommended size: 60x40x50cm or 50x40x40cm), wide tape, accessory bags, and markers.
  2. Determine Whether to Disassemble:
    • Packaging Without Disassembly: Suitable for situations where there is sufficient moving space, the structure is simple, or quick completion is required. Simply wrap the entire chair with multiple layers of bubble wrap and stretch wrap.
    • Packaging After Disassembly: Suitable for situations where space is limited, the chair is of high value, or long-distance transportation is required. Disassemble in the order of โ€œfrom outside to inside, from top to bottom, and in reverse order of assembly.โ€
  3. Disassembly Process: Turn the chair upside down and use a rubber mallet to evenly tap the bottom steel ring of the base to separate the five-star base from the gas lift. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws of components such as armrests and backrests to avoid stripping.
  4. Cleaning and Verification: Wipe the surface of all components with a cloth and verify that the seat cushion, backrest, wheels, etc., are all present.
  5. Component Packaging: Wrap components with stretch wrap to prevent scratches, and then wrap them horizontally and vertically with bubble wrap, focusing on thickening vulnerable areas such as painted surfaces and edges.
  6. Boxing and Fixing: Place them in the cardboard box in an orderly manner and fill the gaps with bubble wrap. Put small accessories such as screws into sealed bags and mark them. Confirm that the components are fixed and then seal the box.
