Office Chair Inspection Video

Admin October 11, 2026

Currently, there is no direct office chair inspection video available, but the inspection situation can be understood through news reports. The results of the national supervision and inspection of office chairs released by the State Administration for Market Regulation show that the quality and safety issues of office chairs cannot be ignored. The following is an introduction from three aspects: inspection overview, non-conforming items, and potential risks.

Inspection Overview: The State Administration for Market Regulation inspected 101 batches of office chairs produced by 101 enterprises across the country and found that 15 batches of products were non-conforming, with a non-conforming discovery rate of 14.9%. This data indicates that within the scope of the inspection, about 1 in every 7 office chairs has quality issues, reflecting that the overall quality level of the office chair market needs to be improved.

Non-conforming Items: Among the non-conforming items, the problem of reciprocating wear of casters is relatively prominent, with 5 batches of products having this issue. Casters are key components for the movement of office chairs, and their wear resistance directly affects the service life and safety of office chairs. If the reciprocating wear of casters is non-conforming, the casters are prone to falling off during use, causing the office chair to be unable to move normally and even potentially leading to accidents such as the user falling due to a sudden loss of balance.

Potential Risks: Some non-conforming office chairs have serious safety hazards, such as base fracture, caster falling off, and even explosion risks. The base is an important component that supports the overall weight of the office chair. If its strength is insufficient, it may fracture under long-term use or when subjected to high pressure, causing the user to lose support and fall and get injured. Although office chair explosion incidents are relatively rare, once they occur, the consequences are unimaginable, usually caused by the unqualified quality of the gas spring or improper use leading to excessive internal pressure.

To ensure their own safety and rights, when purchasing office chairs, consumers should choose products from regular channels and well-known brands and check whether the products have relevant quality certification marks, such as the 3C certification. At the same time, during use, they should follow the product instructions for correct use to avoid safety hazards caused by improper use.
