Office Chair in Car
Admin October 11, 2026
An office chair can fit into a car, but the moving strategy needs to be adjusted according to the car model, and specific operations should be planned in combination with disassembly, fixation, and the characteristics of the car model.

I. Car Model Adaptation Strategies
- SUV/MPV Models: For models like the Tiguan L, due to their large trunk openings and adjustable floor levels, the complete chair can be directly loaded or only a few components (such as armrests and headrests) can be disassembled. If the chair is relatively short, it can be placed directly; if its height is close to the door height, the backrest can be tilted to 45 degrees to reduce space occupation.
- Regular Sedans: For compact models like the Corolla, with a trunk depth usually less than 80 centimeters, the chair needs to be divided into multiple parts for separate loading. If the chair is too tall (such as a gaming chair), you can try tilting the backrest or using a small truck for transportation. It is advisable to choose a foldable ergonomic chair, which, when folded, has a thickness of less than 15 centimeters and can be directly placed in the back seat or trunk without disassembly.
II. Disassembly and Packaging Methods
- Component Disassembly: Follow the manufacturer's instructions step by step. First, remove the armrests and headrests, then separate the backrest from the seat cushion, and finally remove the base connectors (such as gas rods and five-star feet). For chairs with a modular design, the process can be further simplified, and disassembly usually takes 15 to 20 minutes, requiring a toolkit for completion.
- Component Protection: Wrap removable components (such as chair legs and armrests) with soft cloth to prevent scratches on the car interior; place small parts like gas rods and screws in sealed bags to avoid loss.
III. Moving and Fixation Points
- Contact Protection: Place towels or bubble wrap at the contact points between the chair and the car door to reduce friction damage during moving.
- Fixation Method: Use ropes or straps to secure the chair inside the car to ensure it does not slide and impact during sudden braking; lay the seat cushion flat on the bottom of the trunk, stand the backrest upright against the back seat, place small items in the corners, and fix them with non-slip mats.
- Regulatory Compliance: Transporting personal items in a private car does not count as mixed passenger and cargo transportation, but it is necessary to ensure that the items are fixed and do not obstruct the view to avoid affecting driving safety.
IV. Special Scenario Recommendations
If frequent moving is required, you can purchase a dedicated moving bag or contact a moving company to reduce the risk of self-operation; for long-distance transportation, prioritize choosing a foldable chair that combines portability and comfort.
