Office Chair Hydraulic Support
Common problems and solutions for office chair hydraulic supports are as follows:

The office chair hydraulic support usually refers to the hydraulic rod, which is the core component for adjusting the height of the office chair. Common problems include inability to adjust height and strange noises. Different problems require different repair methods, and replacement is necessary if the damage is severe and cannot be repaired.
Common Problem Identification: If the chair cannot adjust its height, it may be due to poor internal sealing of the hydraulic rod or a malfunctioning control valve. Poor sealing can lead to hydraulic oil leakage, preventing sufficient pressure from being generated for height adjustment. A malfunctioning control valve can affect the flow direction and volume of the hydraulic oil, thereby impacting the chair's height adjustment function. If the chair makes strange noises during height adjustment, it may be due to a lack of lubrication or loose components in the hydraulic rod. A lack of lubrication increases friction between components, generating noise, while loose components can produce strange noises due to collisions during adjustment.
Repair Methods:
- Sealing Issues: Invert the chair and carefully use tools to disassemble the connection between the hydraulic rod and the seat. Check if the sealing rubber ring is damaged. If damaged, purchase a compatible sealing rubber ring for replacement and then reassemble.
- Control Valve Malfunction: Try cleaning the valve to remove any impurities. If the problem persists after cleaning, replace the control valve with a new one.
- Lack of Lubrication: Use professional hydraulic oil or lubricant and apply an appropriate amount to the moving parts of the hydraulic rod. Then, repeatedly adjust the chair's height to evenly distribute the lubricant.
- Loose Components: Use a wrench or other tools to tighten any loose screws.
Replacement Method: If the hydraulic rod is severely damaged and cannot be repaired, you can replace it yourself. Office chair hydraulic rods can be purchased independently, with prices around 30 yuan. When removing the old hydraulic rod, if the chair has no screws, step on the bottom with both feet and shake it to remove it. Then, use a wrench or hammer to knock out the hydraulic rod by hitting the circular area around it. When installing the new hydraulic rod, first attach it to the base, then place the seat on top, and sit on it to press it tightly.
