Office Chair Hydraulic Out of Gas
If the hydraulic system of an office chair runs out of gas, it can be resolved by checking the air pressure control system, attempting to reinflate, or replacing the air cylinder or hydraulic rod.

First, check the air pressure control system. The lack of gas in the office chair's hydraulic system may be due to insufficient air pressure, aging seals causing air leaks, or a damaged air cylinder. First, confirm whether the air pressure is adequate and carefully inspect the air cylinder and valves for any air leaks. If a leaking part is found, such as an aging or damaged seal, it should be replaced promptly to ensure good sealing of the air pressure control system and prevent further gas leakage.
Second, attempt to reinflate. Locate the inflation port at the bottom of the chair, which is usually protected by a cover. Open the cover and use a manual or electric air pump for inflation. However, note that the interface of the air pump must match the inflation port to ensure a smooth inflation process. When inflating, operate slowly. The recommended pressure range for office chairs is 0.5 - 1.0 MPa. Observe the changes in the chair while inflating. If inflation is too fast or the pressure is too high, it may cause the chair to burst, posing a safety hazard. Therefore, strictly control the inflation speed and pressure.
Finally, replace the air cylinder or hydraulic rod. If the insufficient air pressure in a pneumatic lift chair is due to long-term use causing seal aging or gas leakage, and the problem remains unresolved after inspection and reinflation, then the air cylinder needs to be replaced. When purchasing an air cylinder, be sure to choose a genuine nitrogen air cylinder, as low-purity gases may pose safety hazards. For hydraulic lift chairs, if the hydraulic rod leaks oil and re-oiling is ineffective and poses a safety hazard, the hydraulic rod should be replaced directly. Replacing an air cylinder or hydraulic rod requires some hands-on skills and tools. If you are unable to complete it yourself, it is advisable to seek the help of a professional to ensure the safety and correctness of the replacement process.
