Office Chair Horizontal Tilt
The horizontal tilt of an office chair may be caused by damaged wheels, a deformed seat plate, improper tilt adjustment, or incorrect selection of the seat surface tilt angle. This can be resolved by checking the wheels and seat plate, adjusting the tilt, and selecting the appropriate seat surface angle.

First, check the wheels. Place the chair upright and observe whether each wheel foot is in contact with the ground. If any wheel foot is suspended, it may indicate that the wheel is damaged. Next, invert the chair and carefully inspect each wheel foot for signs of wear, breakage, or other damage. If any damaged wheels are found, it is recommended to purchase a new set of wheels that match the original chair for replacement. Damaged wheels can cause uneven force distribution on the chair, leading to horizontal tilt issues.
Second, check the seat plate. If all wheels are in good condition and the chair still tilts when placed on a flat surface, the seat plate needs to be inspected. Lay the chair on its side, locate the metal seat plate, and check for any deformation or damage. As a key component supporting body weight, a deformed seat plate can shift the chair's center of gravity, causing it to tilt. If the seat plate is damaged, it may need to be replaced with a new one to resolve the issue.
Third, adjust the tilt. The tilt of an office chair can usually be adjusted using a gas lift and locking mechanism. If the chair's tilt feels uncomfortable, locate the adjustment lever or knob beneath the seat. First, operate it to release the lock, then slowly lean back or forward to guide the chair back to a comfortable angle, and finally operate the adjustment mechanism again to lock the angle. By adjusting the tilt reasonably, the chair can better adapt to the body's needs and avoid tilt issues caused by improper tilt settings.
Finally, pay attention to the seat surface tilt angle. The seat surface tilt angle of an office chair is generally designed to be 2ยฐ~5ยฐ backward tilt, or 0ยฐ~5ยฐ forward tilt/horizontal, with a 3ยฐ - 5ยฐ forward tilt being the most ideal. If the angle is selected improperly, such as an excessively large backward tilt angle or an excessively small forward tilt angle, it can cause the chair to tilt or result in an uncomfortable sitting posture. Therefore, choose an appropriate seat surface tilt angle based on your own usage habits and needs.
