Office Chair Home Cleaning

Admin October 22, 2026

Home cleaning of office chairs requires selecting appropriate methods based on different types and stains. Details are as follows:

Cleaning the Casters

  • Handling Hair Entanglement: If the casters are entangled with hair, use very small scissors to carefully cut the tangled hair. This process is time-consuming and requires patience.
  • Cleaning Dirt: First, remove the hair. Then, wet a used facial towel and let it air dry slightly. Use the textured side of the towel against the wheels. Wrap the towel around the wheels and secure it with a rubber band. Sit on the chair and move it back and forth to transfer the dirt from the wheels to the towel. Repeat this process several times to clean the wheels. Afterward, wipe the floor clean with a cloth.
  • Tips to Prevent Future Dirt: Stick invisible tape to the wheels. Choose tape with an appropriate width and not too strong adhesive. When sticking, do not make it too flat; leave some wrinkles. This can prevent the wheels from being too slippery and reduce dirt accumulation.

Office Chairs with Stubborn Stains

For long-lasting and stubborn stains such as blood stains, heavy oil spots, dust, and mold, activate the steam rinsing mode, spray on a cleaning agent, and use an electric brush head for deep cleaning of the stains.

Mesh Office Chairs

Dirt on mesh office chairs is mostly inside and requires multiple steps including brushing, pre-treatment, focused stain treatment, water circulation cleaning, and steam deep cleaning and sterilization. The specific cleaning steps are as follows: Use a vacuum cleaner to fully remove dust; dilute the cleaning agent or pour it into a watering can and spray it on the chair; let the cleaning agent sit for a while; alternate between using a sauna machine and a high-temperature cleaning machine for at least two rounds of extraction; use a water absorber to dry the cleaned chair during cleaning to speed up the drying process; you can also put a cover on it to protect the chair.

Fabric Chairs

For stained areas on the surface, do not scrub directly with a brush during cleaning. Instead, gently wipe with a damp towel. If dirty, use a diluted cleaning agent. When cleaning, be sure to rinse with water and then wipe off the moisture.

Leather Chairs

Use a soft towel to wipe off dust. If there are stains on the surface, gently wipe with a damp towel and then wipe off the surface moisture. It is best to air dry naturally.

Solid Wood Chairs

Use a dry towel to wipe off dust. Use cotton swabs to clean dust from the crevices. If there is oil stains, apply a cleaning agent to the oil stains, clean with an appropriate amount of water, and dry it to prevent water from continuing to penetrate and causing the wood to rot and mold.
