Hip Narrowing on Office Chair

Admin October 13, 2026

To perform hip narrowing on an office chair, you can refer to the following exercises:

Exercise 1: Single-Leg Hug Knee Stretch

Sit at the end of the chair with your back pressed firmly against the backrest to maintain stability. First, lift your left foot so that the sole of your left foot leaves the ground. Use both hands to hug the knee of your left leg, pulling the entire knee tightly towards your left chest. Hold this position for 15 - 30 seconds, feeling the stretch in your hip joint and legs during this time. After repeating this two to three times, switch to your right leg and perform the same action. This exercise effectively stretches the muscles around the hip joint, especially the adductor muscle group, helping to relax the hips and providing some assistance for hip narrowing.

Exercise 2: Comprehensive Hip Joint Stretch and Twist

First, straighten your back upwards and place your feet steadily on the ground. Lift your right leg from the front of your body, grab your right ankle with both hands, and bring your calf close to your chest with your toes hooked back. Then, press the sole of your right foot against the elbow joint of your left arm, wrap your right arm around from the outside of your right leg, and clasp your hands together. Next, swing your right leg from side to side to relax your right hip joint. After swinging several times, hold still for 5 breaths.

Then, grab your right foot with both hands and place your right foot on your left knee joint. Hold your foot with one hand and press against the knee joint with the other hand while keeping your back straight. As you exhale, flex your hips and extend your spine forward while pressing down on your knee with your right hand. As you inhale, extend your spine forward a little more. Exhale again and continue to flex your hips forward, holding for 10 - 15 breaths. After that, slowly retract as you inhale and relax your upper body. When you reach the limit, point your toes towards the direction of your knee joint, and you will feel a significant stretch in the back of your calf. Practice in combination with your breath, taking a deep and gentle inhale each time and pulling your ankle with both hands as you exhale, then pulling your right leg a little closer to the front of your body. Hold still for 10 - 15 breaths. Perform the same exercise on the other side.

After completing the above exercises, place your left hand on your left hip joint, push your pelvis with your left hand, and let your pelvis drive your spine to twist to the right, with your chest facing the direction of your right knee joint. As you exhale, lift your left leg upwards, inhale with your toes touching the ground, exhale and lift again with your toes touching the ground, doing this 10 - 15 times in combination with your breath. For the last time, keep your left leg abducted, exhale and generate force from the root of your left thigh to rotate your entire leg outward to the limit, performing internal and external rotation exercises and repeating this ten times. Then, let your pelvis drive your chest back, continue to abduct your left leg, flex your hips and knees, and complete the movement by generating force from your left hip as you exhale. This series of exercises can comprehensively move the hip joint, enhance its flexibility and stability, and have a good effect on hip narrowing.
