Office Chair Height Increase Handle

Admin October 09, 2026

Height increase for office chairs is usually not achieved directly through a 'height increase handle', but rather by adjusting the seat height or using auxiliary tools. The specific methods are as follows:

The adjustment of pneumatic office chairs relies on the height adjustment handle beneath the seat, which is commonly designed as a single or double rod. When adjusting, ensure that you leave the seat or slightly lift your body off the seat surface. Pull the handle upwards while gently lifting the seat cushion with both hands. Utilize the elasticity of the pneumatic rod to raise the seat. After releasing the handle, it will automatically lock the height. If the user is relatively light in weight, they can stand up and directly lift the seat cushion upwards with their hands while pulling the handle to assist in raising it. This method achieves stepless adjustment through the extension and retraction of the pneumatic rod, offering convenient operation and a wide height range.

The adjustment of screw-type office chairs is accomplished through the knob at the bottom of the gas rod or support rod. The user needs to rotate the knob counterclockwise, and the seat will gradually rise along with the threaded structure. After adjusting to the appropriate height, rotate the knob clockwise to secure the position. This method is commonly found in old-fashioned mechanical adjustment chairs or some models with fixed heights that require manual intervention. It offers high adjustment precision but is relatively slow, making it suitable for scenarios that demand high height stability.

For non-adjustable chairs that cannot be adjusted in height through the above methods, auxiliary tools are required. For example, height-increasing foot pads can be installed at the bottom of the chair legs. It is advisable to choose metal or plastic materials with anti-slip designs, which can typically increase the height by 5-15 cm. Ensure that the foot pads match the size of the chair legs to avoid wobbling. If the original chair's gas rod is damaged or has insufficient travel, a longer gas rod can be replaced. First, confirm that the diameter and length of the gas rod are consistent with the original model. Remove the base and use tools to replace it. Pay attention to safety during operation to prevent the pneumatic rod from popping out unexpectedly.

If you need to increase the armrest height, you can use armrest height-increasing pads. These accessories are usually made of polyurethane slow-rebound sponge material, are easy to install, and can fit most armrest shapes. By increasing the surface area of the armrests, they effectively support the elbows and arms, relieving fatigue from long hours of office work. When choosing, pay attention to matching the thickness of the height-increasing pads with your own needs to avoid shoulder tension caused by excessive height.
