Office Chair Heavy Pressure Test

Admin October 11, 2026

The office chair heavy pressure test mainly includes five-claw load-bearing test, impact test, and pressure resistance test, which are used to evaluate its structural strength, impact resistance, and durability.

The five-claw load-bearing test is a core step in evaluating the structural stability of the base of an office chair. During the test, an office chair five-claw static pressure testing machine is used to apply a certain weight (usually set according to standards) vertically to the five-claw base of the chair, simulating the pressure scenario that the base endures during long-term use. By measuring indicators such as the deformation amount and structural damage of the base, it can be determined whether it meets safety standards. For example, if the base shows significant bending or breakage during the test, it indicates that its structural strength is insufficient and there may be usage risks.

The impact test is divided into two categories:

  1. The chair sandbag impact test involves allowing a sandbag of a certain weight to freely fall from a predetermined height and impact the seat surface or backrest of the chair, simulating accidental collisions (such as heavy objects falling) during daily use. This test can detect the impact resistance of the chair's structure and seat cushion, ensuring that it remains stable under extreme conditions.
  2. The drop-type seat surface impact test targets the situation where the seat surface endures sudden sitting for a long time. The testing equipment is equipped with a standard weight impact block, which freely falls along a vertical track to strike a designated area of the seat surface. The impact weight and drop height can be freely set. This test can comprehensively inspect the impact resistance and durability limits of the seat surface support structure, avoiding problems such as permanent collapse of the sponge or breakage of the seat panel.

The pressure resistance test focuses on the durability of the seat cushion and the overall structure:

  1. The soft weight seat cushion pressure tester evaluates the load-bearing capacity and deformation recovery performance of the seat cushion by simulating multiple repeated pressure application processes. During the test, the seat cushion needs to withstand static pressure and have repeated pressure resistance properties, helping designers optimize material selection and filling processes.
  2. The chair repeated heavy pressure tester applies continuous repeated pressure to the seat cushion and support structure of the chair, simulating long-term loads in real working environments. By setting the pressure, number of times, and frequency, potential design defects can be discovered, providing a basis for improving processes and quality control standards. For example, if the connecting parts of the chair become loose or the seat surface deforms excessively during the test, the structural design or material strength needs to be optimized.

These tests collectively ensure that office chairs have sufficient safety, stability, and comfort during long-term use and are key links in product quality control.
