The disassembly and installation of an office chair headrest should be carried out according to the specific fixing method. Common types include snap-button type, pin/screw type, and concealed type. During installation, attention should be paid to compatibility, firm fixation, and angle adjustment.

Disassembly Methods

1. Snap-button Type: The headrest support rod is directly inserted into the backrest, with a button or snap buckle on the side or bottom of the support rod. To disassemble, press and hold the unlock button or open the snap buckle, keep it pressed, and use the other hand to grasp both sides of the headrest and pull it straight up.
2. Pin/Screw Type:
   • For screw fixation, locate the exposed screw head at the top of the backrest or the base of the headrest support rod, and use an appropriate screwdriver to turn it counterclockwise to loosen and remove it.
   • For pin fixation, first pull the headrest up a short distance to expose the pin hole, remove the fixing component (unscrew the screw or pull out the pin), and then pull the headrest upward to remove it.
3. Concealed Type (Requires disassembly of the back lining): The locking mechanism of some seats is hidden inside the back lining. To disassemble, adjust the backrest to a reclined position, feel for the fasteners or Velcro securing the back lining at the bottom back with your hand, and release them, then look for the locking mechanism for subsequent operations.

Installation Methods

1. General Installation Guide:
   • Preparation: Check the accessories (headrest body, bracket, screws/snap buckles, tools, etc.), and confirm that the headrest is compatible with the reserved installation holes at the top of the office chair backrest (common spacings are 8mm or 100mm). If there are no reserved holes, choose a non-drilling snap-button type.
   • Installation Process (for models with brackets): Lay the backrest flat, wipe off the dust from the reserved hole positions at the top; fix the bracket (tighten the screws or press the snap buckles); connect the headrest (align the snap buckles/screws with the bracket, press down or turn the screws until firm, some models allow height adjustment).
2. Common Installation Methods:
   • Snap-button type: Align with the circular hole or U-shaped groove at the top of the chair back, insert the headrest support rod vertically, and a clicking sound indicates locking; for adjustable headrests, press the side button to slide up and down, and check alignment, dust-proof stickers, and accessories if there is resistance.
   • Knob type: After inserting the bracket, manually tighten the side knob.
   • Angle adjustment: After installation, use your finger to press the bottom of the headrest and push it forward to a comfortable position; for gaming chairs with a double-joint structure, insert the limit pin first and then close the protective shell.
3. Installation for Special Models (such as NetEase Yanxuan Xiaomanyao S9Pro): Remove the two screws along the top edge of the chair back, insert the headrest from top to bottom into the connector, screw in the screws, and ensure the headrest is level before tightening.

Precautions

1. After installation, adjust and test to ensure that the headrest is free of looseness or abnormal noise, and the angle conforms to the natural curve of the cervical spine (a recommended backward tilt of 15°-65° is recommended).
2. When installing a non-drilling model, if there are no holes in the backrest, choose a headrest with a strong adhesive sticker or snap-on clip, clean the surface of the backrest, clamp it tightly, and let it stand for 24 hours before use.
