Handmade Office Chairs

Admin October 16, 2026

There are two common methods for handmade office chairs, which can be completed using disposable round chopsticks and paper respectively.

Making a Swivel Backrest Chair with Disposable Round Chopsticks

First, prepare the materials, including several disposable round chopsticks, special scissors, glue, double-sided tape, and paper with a width of 1.5 cm. When making the seat, take one chopstick, measure 5 cm, and cut it with special scissors. Cut a total of 12 such pieces. Glue two pieces on each side to form the seat. Then, make other parts. Cut the chopsticks according to specific dimensions, such as chopsticks that are 4.5 cm, 2 cm, and of an appropriate length (the original information of 25 cm is suspected to be incorrect and should be determined according to the actual situation). Make some structures and attach two of them to both sides of the seat plate. Next, make the backrest and attach it diagonally to the back of the stool. After that, make the support structure. Glue a 3 cm chopstick in the middle of a 6 cm chopstick, then glue a 5 - 6 cm chopstick in the middle. Cut four triangles and attach them below as supports. Attach chopsticks to each corner of the chair. Roll up the 1.5 cm wide paper so that the chopsticks can move freely. Pull out the chopsticks, attach double-sided tape, cut seven 1.5 cm chopsticks, attach them for fixation, and then attach them to the bottom of the chair. Finally, put in the footrest, and a swivel chair is completed.

Making a Carnival Chair with Paper

First, prepare the paper. Roll the paper into paper sticks, then press them vertically to form rectangular flat tubes. Make several such flat tubes for later use. When starting the assembly, first install the long backrest, which is one of the main supporting parts of the chair. Then, attach the armrests and chair legs. During the assembly process, pay attention to the firm connection between each part to ensure the stability of the chair frame. By reasonably combining these paper flat tubes, the chair frame can be completed. However, compared with the chair made of chopsticks, this paper chair may have weaker load-bearing capacity and is more suitable for decorative or light-duty use scenarios.
