Making Office Chairs from Cola Cans

First, prepare a sufficient number of cola cans, which are the basic materials for making. Then, remove the tops and bottoms of the cola cans, leaving only the middle can bodies. Be careful during this step to avoid cutting your fingers, and you can use appropriate tools to assist.

Next, cut and flatten the processed can bodies. When cutting, ensure the cuts are even, and after flattening, the can bodies will be in a sheet-like form. Then, use a wave machine to roll and shape the flattened can bodies. The wave machine can give the can bodies a specific wavy shape, providing them with a certain three-dimensional feel and aesthetic appeal, while also increasing structural stability. Through rolling and shaping, the form of the cola cans gradually approaches that of office chair components, preparing for subsequent assembly and shaping. However, this method of making is relatively simple and creative, and the office chairs made may have certain limitations in terms of load-bearing capacity and comfort. They are more suitable as decorative small ornaments or simple temporary seats.

Nut Office Chairs

Making nut office chairs is relatively more complex. The first step is to make a human back model. Taking the human back model of a girlfriend as an example, accurately measure the relevant dimensions and use appropriate materials such as plaster or clay for shaping to ensure the model can accurately reflect the curves and form of the human back.

After the model is made, evenly place nuts on it and weld them firmly. When placing the nuts, consider the overall balance and aesthetics. During the welding process, ensure that each nut is firmly connected to the model to avoid looseness. After welding, smooth the surface by removing the burrs and uneven parts produced by welding.

Next, grind the wooden stump according to the imprint position where the girlfriend sits on it. This step is to make the shape of the wooden stump better fit the human sitting posture and improve comfort. After grinding, pour wood wax oil and let it dry. Wood wax oil can protect the wooden stump and increase its luster. Finally, remove the nuts welded on the model and insert them into the wooden stump for fixation, thus completing the making of the nut office chair. This type of office chair has a unique industrial style, and the use of nuts increases its sturdiness, but the making process requires high craftsmanship.
