Office Chair Hand-Drawn Dimensions

Admin October 10, 2026

The hand-drawn dimensions of office chairs can be designed with reference to the following two types of standards:

1. Basic Dimensions of Regular Office Chairs
The hand-drawn design of regular office chairs should be based on the basic parameters of ergonomics to ensure harmonious structural proportions and compliance with daily usage habits.

  • Seat Surface: It is recommended to draw a square of 45ร—45cm. This size can accommodate the hip movement range of most adults while maintaining visual balance.
  • Seat Height: Set at 45cm. When paired with a regular office desk (70-75cm), this height ensures that the user's elbows are naturally bent at 90ยฐ, reducing shoulder and neck fatigue.
  • Side Structure: The ratio of the side width of the seat to the height of the seat bottom is 1:1, meaning the side projection is a square. This design simplifies the difficulty of hand-drawing while reflecting the stability of the basic structure.
  • Backrest Height: The vertical distance from the top of the backrest to the seat surface is 45cm. This height can support up to below the user's scapula, meeting basic back support needs. If a headrest is required, it can be extended by 10-15cm on this basis, but it should be marked as an optional module in the hand-drawing.

2. Reference Dimensions of Ergonomic Chairs (Taking Sihoo C300 as an Example)
If you need to draw more complex ergonomic chairs, you can refer to the functional design logic of mainstream models on the market such as the Sihoo C300. However, note that specific values should be adjusted based on the product manual or actual measurement data:

  • Lumbar Support Adjustment: In the hand-drawing, mark the lumbar support part as an adjustable module, for example, using three arcs to represent three levels of height adjustment, and mark the adjustment range as 5-10cm (specific values should be based on the actual model parameters).
  • Recline Angle: The maximum recline angle of the chair back can be marked as 150ยฐ, and use dashed lines in the hand-drawing to represent the reclined state, while marking the change in the angle between the seat and the backrest when reclined.
  • Armrest Design: Multi-dimensional adjustable armrests should reflect the adjustment functions in three dimensions: up and down, front and back, and left and right. For example, use arrows to mark the adjustable range of the armrest height as 7-10cm and the sliding range front and back as 5-8cm (specific values should refer to the model instructions).

Design Recommendations:

  • For basic hand-drawings, focus on regular dimensions and prioritize ensuring accurate structural proportions.
  • If you need to reflect functionality, you can mark it in combination with the adjustment modules of ergonomic chairs, but clearly distinguish between 'reference design' and 'actual parameters'.
  • All dimension markings should use a unified unit (such as centimeters) and maintain clear hand-drawn lines to avoid dimension misguidance due to proportion distortion.
