Office Chair Green Hole Repair
Admin October 22, 2026
Repairing holes in an office chair requires selecting the appropriate method based on the material and extent of damage. For plastic chairs, refer to the following steps:

I. Material Diagnosis and Glue Selection
If the office chair is made of plastic, first determine whether it is thermoplastic (e.g., PE, PP) or thermosetting plastic.
Small Hole Repair:
- Preferably use epoxy resin glue or AB glue for direct filling. These glues offer high bonding strength and wear resistance after curing, suitable for most plastic materials.
- For a consistent appearance, find a plastic piece of the same color as the chair and cover the hole with glue, or use hot-melt bonding (requires a hot-melt glue gun; control the temperature to avoid plastic deformation).
- Special Note for PP/PE Materials: These plastics have low surface energy and are difficult to bond. Choose glues labeled as โPE/PP-specificโ or โdifficult-to-bond plastic-specificโ; otherwise, they may easily detach.
Crack Repair:
- First, use tape to align and secure the crack to prevent misalignment during repair.
- Roughen the edges of the crack on the inner surface to increase the bonding area and enhance firmness.
- Inject epoxy resin glue, AB glue, or specialized plastic structural adhesive to fill the crack and press firmly to ensure full penetration of the glue.
II. Repair Operation Points
Cleaning and Roughening:
- Thoroughly clean the area around the hole before repair to remove dust, oil, and other impurities, which can affect the bonding effect of the glue.
- Use sandpaper or a roughening tool to roughen the bonding surface and enhance the adhesion between the glue and the plastic.
Glue Mixing and Application:
- If using two-component glues (e.g., epoxy resin glue, AB glue), mix them strictly according to the instructions to avoid incomplete curing or insufficient strength due to improper ratios.
- Apply the glue evenly to cover the bonding surface, ensuring no bubbles or gaps, especially when filling cracks from the inside out.
Fixing and Curing:
- After repair, use clamps, tape, or weights to align and fix the area to prevent movement before the glue cures.
- Control the curing time according to the glue type (usually 24 hours) and avoid touching or applying pressure during this period.
III. Alternative Solutions
If you prefer not to repair it yourself, you can contact local furniture repair technicians in Yangquan (such as Master Shen, Master Guo, Master Li, etc.), who offer on-site repair services, saving time and effort while ensuring repair quality.
