Office Chair Garbage Cleaning

Admin October 09, 2026

Different methods are required for garbage cleaning of office chairs depending on the parts, as follows:

Chair Surface and Overall Cleaning

  • Mesh Office Chairs: They require multi-step deep cleaning. First, brush the chair surface to remove surface dust and debris; then conduct pre-treatment to address potential stains in advance; for stubborn stains, use specialized cleaning agents for targeted treatment; after that, perform water circulation cleaning to thoroughly clean the chair surface; finally, use steam deep cleaning for sterilization and disinfection to ensure the chair surface is clean and hygienic.
  • Ordinary Computer Chairs: For dust, gently wipe with a semi-damp towel (after dewatering to achieve the appropriate dry-wet state) to avoid damaging the chair material due to excessive moisture; if encountering stubborn stains, first spray fabric dry cleaning agent and then wipe with a lint-free towel to prevent lint residue from affecting the cleaning effect.

Caster Cleaning

  • Hair Entanglement Handling:
    • You can use very small scissors to carefully handle entangled hair, but this method is time-consuming.
    • Adopt a 3-step disassembly cleaning method: First, turn the office chair upside down, hold the caster bracket with your hand, and gently pull out the casters outward (most are designed with snap-fit connections and do not require tools). If they are tightly stuck, use a flat-head screwdriver with a soft cloth underneath to gently pry the edge of the snap-fit connection. After removing the casters, use tweezers to pick out long hairs and carpet fibers from the caster gaps one by one (along the direction of caster rotation).
  • Dirt Cleaning:
    • After cleaning the entangled hair, prepare a used face towel, wet it and then let it air-dry in the shade. Use the textured side against the casters, wrap the face towel around the casters, and secure it with a rubber band. Sit on the chair and move it back and forth, and the dirt on the casters will rub onto the face towel.
    • You can also use an old toothbrush dipped in a small amount of neutral detergent to gently brush the caster surface and bearing gaps to remove residual dust and oil stains. Then rinse the casters with clean water (avoid getting water into the bearing part), dry them with a dry cloth, and let them air-dry in a well-ventilated place for 10 minutes.
  • Subsequent Handling: After the casters are dry, drip 1 - 2 drops of office equipment special lubricating oil onto the bearings, rotate the casters by hand to evenly distribute the lubricating oil, then align the casters with the bracket snap-fit connections and gently push them in until you hear a "click" sound to confirm they are securely installed. Finally, turn the office chair back upright and push it to test if the casters move smoothly. If there is still stuttering, check if there is any residual debris that has not been cleaned. In addition, you can stick invisible tape on the casters to prevent them from being too slippery, and there is almost no adhesive residue on the casters after peeling off the tape.
