Office Chair Function Introduction

Admin October 13, 2026

The functions of an office chair mainly include six aspects: support and pressure dispersion, multi-dimensional adjustment, health intervention, flexible mobility, scenario adaptability, and durability and safety.

Support and pressure dispersion is one of the core functions of an office chair. Through designs such as high-density foam seat cushions, breathable mesh or waterproof fabric backrests, it can effectively disperse pressure on the buttocks and back, preventing muscle fatigue caused by prolonged sitting. Some ergonomic chairs employ dynamic lumbar support technology, such as the ZeroG Flow dynamic lumbar support system, which further reduces lumbar pressure through multi-zone pressure dispersion and full-back support structures, making them particularly suitable for users who need to work at a desk for extended periods.

Multi-dimensional adjustment functions significantly enhance the adaptability of office chairs. Pneumatic rods support height adjustment to accommodate desks of different heights; the backrest angle adjustment range is typically 90ยฐ-135ยฐ, meeting the needs of switching between focused work and short breaks; the headrest design supports the cervical spine and relieves neck pressure; the lumbar support adjustment function (such as a four-way back-waist fitting system) supports up-and-down and front-and-back adjustments to fit the lumbar curves of different users, providing personalized support.

Health intervention functions represent an upgraded direction for modern office chairs. Some products integrate intelligent interaction modules, such as sedentary reminders that prompt users to get up and move at regular intervals, posture monitoring functions that provide real-time feedback on poor posture through sensors, and some high-end models even come with massage functions that relieve muscle tension through vibrations or rollers, meeting users' deep-seated needs for health management.

Flexible mobility is achieved through universal casters. PU wheels or nylon wheels can slide smoothly on carpets or hard floors, reducing the frequency of getting up and moving, especially suitable for open workstations, private offices, or meeting scenarios, improving work efficiency while reducing spatial constraints.

Scenario adaptability is reflected in the design of adjustable structures. The backrest linkage technology ensures that the backrest remains close to the waist when reclining, providing continuous support; the base adjustment method (such as a synchronous tilt mechanism) can accommodate different sitting habits, such as sitting upright for work or reclining for rest, meeting diverse usage scenarios.

Durability and safety are the fundamental guarantees of an office chair. Key components (such as pneumatic rods) need to pass safety certifications such as SGS, with a weight-bearing limit of approximately 150 kilograms to ensure safety; waterproof fabrics can extend the service life and reduce the risk of damage caused by liquid spills. These designs collectively ensure the long-term stable use of the office chair.
