Office Chair Frame Model

Admin October 12, 2026

The office chair frame model is a three-dimensional structural model designed to support the human sitting posture, featuring adjustable and movable functions. Its design integrates ergonomics and mechanical principles.

The model primarily consists of an upper main structure and a bottom adjustment mechanism. The upper main structure includes four core components:

  1. Headrest Frame: Located at the top of the seat, it is typically designed as an adjustable arc-shaped structure for height or angle, supporting the neck and relieving fatigue from prolonged sitting. Its shape must conform to the cervical spine curve, and materials are often high-strength plastics or metals to ensure stability.
  2. Backrest Frame: As the main support, it features an S-shaped or ergonomic curve design that fits the natural curvature of the spine, distributing back pressure. Some high-end models use mesh or breathable materials for enhanced comfort.
  3. Armrests and Armrest Support Columns: The armrests are usually connected to the backrest or seat cushion frame, supporting arm weight; the support columns transfer armrest forces to the seat cushion frame and must be sufficiently strong. Some models feature adjustable or rotating armrests to suit different usage scenarios.
  4. Seat Cushion Frame: The core component for bearing body weight, it requires high rigidity. Its shape is mostly rectangular or slightly concave, paired with a sponge or memory foam cushion to distribute hip pressure. The frame connects to the backrest via hinges or elastic structures, enabling tilt functionality.

The bottom adjustment mechanism is the functional core of the model, comprising two parts:

  1. Height and Tilt Adjustment Mechanism: It uses a gas spring or mechanical spring to adjust seat height, accommodating users of different heights; the tilt mechanism allows the backrest to recline within a certain angle range, providing a relaxed posture. The adjustment mechanism must have a locking function to ensure safety during use.
  2. Five-Star Base and Casters: The five-star base adopts a star-shaped design to distribute pressure to the ground, with materials often being aluminum alloy or nylon for a balance of lightweight and durability; the casters (usually universal wheels) installed at the ends of the base must be quiet and wear-resistant for easy seat movement.

The model file format is STEP, a universal 3D data exchange standard supporting multi-software compatibility; the design software is Solidworks 2016, suitable for complex mechanical structure modeling; the drawing ID is 1734662, which can be used to uniquely identify the model version. The overall design achieves functional integration through modular combination, meeting both the support needs of office scenarios and considerations for human comfort and operational convenience.
