Office Chair Frame Installation

Admin October 16, 2026

The installation steps for an office chair frame typically consist of the following seven core stages, and specific operations should be adjusted according to the product manual:

  1. Installation of Chair Wheels and Five-Pronged Base Insert each of the five chair wheels (casters) vertically into the assembly holes at the bottom of the five-pronged base, ensuring that the wheels fit perfectly into the holes. For some models, pay attention to installing the T-shaped frame of the five-pronged base with the arc facing outward to avoid interference with the gas lift rod during subsequent use.

  2. Gas Lift Rod Installation Insert the thicker end of the gas lift rod vertically into the central hole of the five-pronged base, ensuring that the insertion depth reaches the bottom. The gas lift rod is the core component that supports the seat's up-and-down movement. During installation, keep it vertical to avoid tilting, which could lead to air leakage or jamming.

  3. Connection of the Seat Base and Cushion Place the seat base on the bottom of the cushion, align it with the reserved screw holes (usually four), and secure it with the matching screws (such as B screws or M6*25mm). For some models, a tray needs to be installed first. Use four thick screws to fasten the tray to the bottom of the cushion, and then connect the seat base.

  4. Docking of the Cushion and Gas Lift Rod Align the hole at the bottom of the cushion's seat base with the top of the gas lift rod and press down slowly until fully inserted. In this step, ensure that the top of the gas lift rod is aligned with the hole in the seat base to avoid damaging the components by forcing the press.

  5. Backrest Installation

    • Bottom Fixation: Align the bottom of the backrest with the armrest installation positions on both sides of the cushion, and secure the connection between the backrest and the cushion with screws (such as C screws or M6*20mm).
    • Rear Reinforcement: Align the rear of the backrest with the installation holes on the cushion support, and use a wrench to lock and fix it with D screws or M8*25mm screws, ensuring that the backrest is stable and does not wobble.
  6. Armrest Installation

    • Insertion into the Support: Press the adjustment button below the armrest surface, insert the armrest vertically into the support holes on both sides of the cushion, and release the button to confirm that the armrest is locked.
    • Screw Fixation: Connect the armrest to the cushion or support with screws (such as M630mm or M825mm), and install decorative covers to hide the screw holes and enhance the aesthetics.
  7. Headrest Installation Align the bottom of the headrest with the middle position at the top of the backrest, and pass a screw (such as an E screw or M6*25mm) through the fixed buckle and tighten it, ensuring that the headrest is adjustable but not loose. For some models, the headrest needs to be inserted into the slot first and then fixed with screws, and the order should be adjusted according to the structure.

Precautions:

  • The screw specifications (such as M6, M8) and quantities may vary slightly depending on the model. Before installation, check the product manual or installation video.
  • Apply even force to key components (such as the gas lift rod, backrest connection) to avoid over-tightening the screws, which could cause slippage, or under-tightening, which could lead to abnormal noise.
  • After installation, check that all adjustment functions (such as up-and-down movement, reclining, armrest height) are working properly to ensure safe use.
