Office Chair Footrest Installation
The steps for installing a footrest on an office chair are as follows:

Clean the installation area
Before installation, ensure that the ground is clean, flat, and free of debris and dust to enhance the stability of the footrest. If using a plastic pedal, you can lay rubber or anti-slip mats on the contact surface to prevent sliding by increasing friction. For example, on smooth tiles or wooden floors, anti-slip mats can effectively reduce the risk of pedal displacement while avoiding scratches on the floor.Install the pedal
Insert the footrest pedal into the corresponding interface of the office chair bracket, ensuring the correct orientation (some pedals have foolproof designs, and inserting them incorrectly will prevent installation or cause abnormal use). After insertion, tighten the matching nuts with moderate force: Over-tightening may cause abnormal friction between the pedal and the bracket, resulting in poor rotation; under-tightening may cause wobbling or abnormal noise. The installation details vary for different chair models. For example:
- For the M27 chair, pay attention to the specific nut specifications shown in the accessories and adjust the backrest angle simultaneously to ensure balance;
- For the NB237 chair, use a 4.2-centimeter hex socket screw, sequentially place the spring washer and flat washer, and then align and screw it into the footrest bracket, ensuring that all components are securely fastened without omission.
Add anti-slip measures (for plastic pedals)
If the pedal is made of plastic, you can stick rubber mats or anti-slip patches on its bottom. These materials usually have adhesive properties and do not require additional glue, and they are reusable. It is recommended to choose anti-slip mats with a thickness of 2-3 millimeters, which can enhance stability without affecting the fit between the pedal and the ground due to excessive height.Test the installation effect
After installation, perform a double check:
- Static test: Gently twist the pedal with your hand to confirm that there is no looseness or wobbling;
- Dynamic test: Sit on the chair, alternately step on the pedal with your feet and move back and forth to observe whether the pedal moves or makes abnormal noises with the action. If you find that the pedal is tilted, the nuts are loose, or there is abnormal friction, you need to readjust the nut force or check whether the components are damaged.
Precautions: Avoid using excessive force during installation to prevent deformation of the bracket or pedal; if the chair model is special (such as having a pneumatic rod adjustment function), refer to the instruction manual to confirm the compatibility of the footrest with the pneumatic rod. Regularly checking the tightness of the nuts can extend the service life of the footrest.
