Office Chair Footrest Installation
Admin October 09, 2026
The steps for installing a footrest on an office chair can be divided into three parts: component assembly, structural fixation, and detail adjustment. The specific operation should be completed according to the process based on the type of footrest (such as the F28 angled-leg chair footrest), while paying attention to health adaptability after installation.

1. Installation Steps for the F28 Angled-Leg Chair Footrest (Taking this model as an example)
Footrest Frame Assembly
- Unscrew the reserved screws on the footrest frame, align and insert the steel tubes on both sides, and tighten the screws sequentially with a wrench to ensure structural stability.
- Install the angle iron: Align the angle iron with the holes on the foot pedal, secure it with four 6x14 fine short screws, then align the other side with the holes on the footrest frame, secure it with four 8x30 coarse medium screws, and finally insert the knob into the holes on the footrest frame.
Connecting the Armrests to the Seat Cushion
- Align the armrests with the holes on the backrest and secure them with four fine short screws, adjusting the front-to-back position of the seat cushion to align with the holes.
- Align the other side of the armrests with the holes on the seat cushion and secure them with four fine medium screws to ensure a tight connection between the armrests and the seat cushion.
Securing the Footrest Frame to the Seat Cushion
- Align the footrest frame with the holes on the seat cushion and secure it with four 6x40 fine extended screws to complete the main assembly.
Adjustment and Leveling
- Flip the armrests to 90ยฐ for easy storage and rotate the knob to adjust the height of the chair legs to a comfortable position.
- If the chair legs wobble, install footrest pins for leveling: Place two washers on the footrest pins and screw them into the bottom of the chair legs, repeating the process on the other side; if there is still slight unevenness, slightly adjust the rotation angle of the footrest pins on one side.
2. Health Adaptation Recommendations After Installation
Height and Angle Adjustment
- After installing the footrest, the angle between the thighs and calves should be maintained at 100-120 degrees, usually within a height range of 10-15 centimeters to achieve a natural 90-degree hip-knee angle, avoiding leg suspension or excessive bending.
- The footrest surface can be chosen as flat or slightly inclined, adjusted according to personal comfort to promote lower limb blood circulation.
Functions and Health Benefits
- Improving Posture: The footrest provides stable support, allowing the feet to rest flat, with the hips slightly higher than the knees, helping the pelvis return to a neutral position and reducing lumbar pressure.
- Relieving Fatigue: Reduces the pressure area on the muscles and blood vessels at the back of the thighs, preventing leg numbness, especially suitable for those who sit for long periods.
- Correcting Habits: Provides a comfortable footrest, reducingไธ่ฏ postures such as crossing legs and lowering the risk of scoliosis.
3. Purchase Considerations
- Compatibility: Ensure that the size of the footrest matches the model of the office chair to avoid installation difficulties due to misaligned holes.
- Material and Stability: Choose metal or high-strength plastic materials to ensure load-bearing capacity (usually needs to support more than 50kg).
- Adjustability: Prioritize footrests with adjustable height or angle to accommodate different heights and sitting postures.
