Office Chair Foot Replacement

Admin October 13, 2026

The replacement of office chair feet should be selected according to the specific type and connection method. Before operation, it is recommended to evaluate the value of the chair. If the damage is severe or the repair is complex, it is recommended to directly replace it with a new chair.

I. Replacement of Footrests for the Sihoo C Series (C300/C500) The footrest is secured with three screws. Use the tool that comes with the chair (usually an Allen wrench) to remove the screws and complete the replacement. When operating, ensure that the screw specifications match the original parts to avoid unstable installation due to size mismatch.

II. Installation of F28 Inclined-Leg Chair Feet Prepare tools such as four coarse-medium screws (8x30) and four fine-extended screws (6x40). The specific steps are as follows:

  1. Unscrew the reserved fixing screws on the chair body and remove the original angle iron;
  2. Align the new footrest with the holes on the chair body and secure it with angle iron;
  3. Screw in the coarse-medium screws and fine-extended screws in sequence to ensure a tight connection. When installing, pay attention to the tightening force of the screws to avoid slipping due to excessive force.

III. Disassembly and Replacement of Five-Star Feet for Office Chairs There are two methods depending on the connection method:

  1. Flat Washer and Snap Ring Fixation: Lay the chair on its side or upside down, use a tool to remove the flat washer and snap ring at the bottom of the central column, and directly pull out the old foot; when installing the new foot, follow the reverse steps to ensure the snap ring is reset.
  2. Tapered Press Fit Connection: Lay the chair upside down and gently tap the tapered connection between the central column and the five-star foot with a hammer until the old foot falls off; when installing the new foot, align it with the holes and gently tap it with a hammer until it is fully pressed in. Overall Replacement Process: First, lay the chair on its side or upside down, disassemble the old foot according to the connection method (e.g., remove the snap ring for snap ring fixation, tap to separate for tapered press fit), select a new foot that matches the original chair (pay attention to size and material), install it following the reverse steps of disassembly, and finally check the stability.

IV. Replacement of Universal Wheels Choose the method according to the type of wheel:

  1. Threaded Type: Unscrew the old wheel counterclockwise and screw in the new wheel clockwise to ensure full engagement of the threads.
  2. Insert Rod Type: Pinch both sides of the wheel, press and rotate to pull out the old wheel; insert the new wheel's rod vertically into the hole on the chair foot until you hear a 'click' sound from the snap ring, indicating that it is properly installed. When replacing, check that the wheel specifications match the original chair to avoid poor rolling or detachment due to size mismatch.
