Office Chair Foot Replacement
The method for replacing the feet of an office chair varies depending on the specific type. Common situations and operational steps are as follows:

Replacement of Footrests for Sihoo C Series (C300/C500)
To replace the footrests of a Sihoo C series office chair, first prepare a foam pad to place on the ground to prevent the chair back from being scratched during the operation. The footrests are fixed to the chair body with three screws. Use the screw removal tool that comes with the chair (usually an Allen wrench) to unscrew these three screws one by one, and then remove the old footrests. When installing the new footrests, align the screw holes and reverse the operation, gradually tightening the screws to ensure the footrests are firmly fixed. Pay attention to applying even force during the operation to avoid screw slippage or damage to the chair body structure.
Replacement of Five-Star Feet of Office Chairs
The replacement of five-star feet should be carried out according to the connection method between them and the pneumatic rod (central column):
Flat Washer and Snap Ring Fixed Type
Place the chair on its side or upside down on a soft pad and observe the bottom of the central column. If there is a flat washer and snap ring, use needle-nose pliers or a special tool to grip the edge of the snap ring and gently pry it outward to remove it. Then, grasp the edge of the five-star feet and pull it vertically upward to separate the old feet. When installing the new five-star feet, ensure that the snap ring groove is aligned with the central column, insert it, and press the snap ring tightly to fix it. Keep the chair stable during the operation to avoid sudden ejection of the pneumatic rod causing injury.Conical Press-Fit Fixed Type
If there is no snap ring at the bottom of the central column, the five-star feet and the steel column are connected by a conical structure through press-fitting. In this case, turn the chair upside down and use a rubber mallet (avoid using a metal hammer to damage the surface) to evenly tap along the connection between the five-star feet and the central column to loosen the conical structure and remove the old feet. When installing the new five-star feet, align the conical interface and press it down vertically from above. If necessary, lightly tap it to ensure a tight fit. Control the force when tapping to avoid damaging the pneumatic rod or the chair body.
General Precautions
- Safety Protection: Wear gloves before operating to avoid scratches; choose a flat ground when turning the chair upside down to prevent tipping.
- Tool Matching: Use original or compatible tools to avoid damaging parts due to forced disassembly.
- Part Matching: The size and material of the new five-star feet should be compatible with the original chair. It is recommended to purchase parts through official channels.
- Pneumatic Rod Inspection: If the pneumatic rod is found to be loose or leaking during the replacement process, it should be repaired or replaced simultaneously.
After completing the replacement, test the stability of the chair to ensure that the five-star feet are firmly installed and rotate flexibly. If excessive resistance or part jamming is encountered during the operation, it is recommended to contact professional maintenance personnel for handling to avoid more serious damage caused by forced disassembly.
