Office Chair Foot Fixation

Admin October 19, 2026

The fixation methods for office chair feet vary depending on the type of chair, with common methods as follows:

For fixed-leg bow chairs, the chair legs are designed with an integrated, bow-shaped steel base. There is no roller structure, and natural stability is achieved through reinforcement by a bottom crossbeam and anti-slip feet when placed on the ground. The stability of this type of chair comes from the rigidity of its structure, requiring no additional fixation measures. It is suitable for office scenarios where a long-term fixed position is needed. When using, attention should be paid to the flatness of the ground. If there are obvious bumps or depressions, stability can be enhanced by adjusting the chair's position or adding anti-slip pads.

For office chairs with footrests, taking the W889 new slanted-leg chair foot as an example, installing foot pins is a key fixation method. The specific operation steps are as follows:

  1. Place two washers on the foot pins to provide cushioning and anti-slip effects;
  2. Align the foot pins with the threaded holes at the bottom of the chair feet and tighten them with a tool until they cannot be turned by hand;
  3. Repeat the same operation on the other chair foot to ensure symmetrical installation of the foot pins on both sides;
  4. If there is still slight wobbling in the chair feet, leveling can be achieved by slightly adjusting the rotation angle of the foot pins (no more than 1/4 turn each time) until the chair is completely stable.
    This method compensates for uneven ground through adjustable foot pins and is suitable for most office chairs with rollers.

The fixation of computer chair footrests requires special attention to structural connection stability. For example, when installing footrest sliders, the screws at the horizontal hole positions should be kept at an appropriate tightness:

  • Over-tightening the screws can make it difficult to insert the bracket or cause the movement to be stuck, affecting the adjustment function of the footrest;
  • Under-tightening the screws may lead to structural wobbling, reducing safety during use.
    It is recommended to first manually tighten the screws until they cannot be turned by hand and then slightly tighten them another 1/4 turn with a tool to ensure structural stability while retaining some movement allowance. In addition, the connection between the footrest and the chair body should be regularly checked for loose screws, especially in cases where the height of the footrest is frequently adjusted. The screws should be tightened once a month to maintain long-term stability.

The fixation methods for different types of office chairs should be selected based on their structural design characteristics. After fixation, the stability of the chair can be tested by gently pushing it. If there is abnormal wobbling, the installation steps should be rechecked or after-sales service should be contacted for assistance.
