Office Chair Foot Classification
Office chair feet can be classified from four dimensions: form, material, shape, and size, as detailed below:

Form: Common types include five-star swivel chair feet, four-legged chair feet, bow-shaped chair feet, and high chair feet. Five-star swivel chair feet are connected by a central axis to five radiating chair feet, supporting 360-degree rotation, suitable for flexible office scenarios. Four-legged chair feet consist of four independent legs, with a simple structure and strong stability, mostly used in fixed workstations. Bow-shaped chair feet are arc-shaped without casters, suitable for scenarios requiring a fixed sitting posture. High chair feet are taller and usually paired with bar counters or high tables to meet standing office needs.
Material:
- Nylon chair feet: Manufactured through injection molding without welding. They are lightweight (0.8-1.5kg), with low moving inertia, non-conductive, resistant to moisture and corrosion, and have a low cost. However, they may become brittle under long-term heavy pressure or in low-temperature environments, and their surfaces are prone to scratches. Identification features include injection points at the bottom, black/dark gray appearance, and some can be colored.
- Steel chair feet: Made using steel pipe bending and welding or steel plate stamping processes, with surface spraying or electroplating treatments. They have high strength and load-bearing capacity but are heavier (2-3kg). Welding points may rust if not properly treated, and electroplated versions are prone to fingerprints. They can be identified by magnetic attraction, metallic luster sections, and welding marks.
- Aluminum alloy chair feet: Formed by die-casting and then polished, brushed, or sprayed. They have high strength and moderate weight (1.5-2.5kg), are rust-proof, aging-resistant, and have a good appearance, but are more expensive (about 2-4 times the cost of nylon feet). Die-casting defects may affect strength, so it is important to choose a reputable manufacturer. Identification features include non-magnetism, silver-white sections, and a crisp knocking sound.
- Other materials: Include nylon plastic feet, electroplated feet, polished aluminum alloy feet, iron frame feet (curved wood or iron pipe feet), etc., covering different cost and performance requirements.
Shape: Mainly divided into five-star feet and bow-shaped feet. Five-star feet support rotation with a radiating design, while bow-shaped feet provide stability through an arc-shaped structure, suitable for scenarios without casters.
Size: Classified by chair foot radius (mm). Common specifications for nylon chair feet (containing 30% fiber) are 270, 280, 300, 320, and 350. Aluminum alloy chair feet and iron chair feet have similar specifications, including 300, 320, and 350. Different sizes are suitable for different chair body structures and load-bearing requirements.
