Office Chair Foot Anti-Collision

Admin October 22, 2026

Anti-collision for office chair feet can be achieved by using cushioned chair feet or anti-collision foot pads, both of which effectively reduce impact force and protect the floor.

Cushioned Chair Feet: Deformation Energy Absorption, Combining Rigidity and Wear Resistance

Cushioned chair feet typically use pearl cotton composite materials, such as EPE (polyethylene foam) combined with kraft paper. The core principle is to absorb energy through material deformation: when the chair moves or collides, the EPE layer undergoes elastic deformation, converting impact force into heat energy and gradually releasing it, then returning to its original shape, preventing energy from being directly transferred to the floor or furniture. The outer layer of kraft paper enhances the structure, preventing the EPE layer from tearing while providing a wear-resistant surface to extend service life. This design is particularly suitable for frequently moved scenarios, such as office areas or family activity spaces, significantly reducing the risk of damage to the floor from hard chair feet.

Anti-Collision Foot Pads: Diverse Materials, Strong Functional Targeting

Common materials for anti-collision foot pads on the market include EVA, silicone, and felt, with slightly different functional focuses:

  • EVA Soundproof, Wear-Resistant, and Anti-Slip Pads: Made from ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer as the base material, they are lightweight and highly elastic, effectively cushioning impact force and reducing movement noise. Their surfaces are usually designed with anti-slip patterns to prevent chair sliding, suitable for wooden or tiled floors.
  • Silicone Pads: Heat-resistant and aging-resistant, with outstanding softness, they can closely conform to the contour of chair feet, distributing pressure more evenly. The chemical stability of silicone makes it less reactive with cleaning agents or floor wax, suitable for long-term use.
  • Felt Pads: Made from natural or synthetic fibers, they have high friction, securely fixing the chair's position while avoiding scratches on the floor. Their sound-absorbing properties are superior to other materials, further reducing the "creaking" sound during movement, suitable for environments with high soundproofing requirements.

Selection Advice: Match According to Scenario and Needs

If the chair needs frequent movement or carries heavy loads, the composite structure of cushioned chair feet provides more durable energy absorption. If soundproofing or floor protection is more of a concern, the noise reduction performance of EVA or felt pads is superior. Silicone pads are suitable for humid environments or scenarios requiring long-term fixation. When installing, ensure the foot pad matches the size of the chair foot to prevent loosening and ineffective protection.
