Office Chair Foot Adjustment
The adjustment methods for office chair feet mainly fall into two categories: seat adjustment and foot structure adjustment, with the specific method depending on the chair's design. Here are the details:

Seat Adjustment Function
Some office chairs allow for height or front-back position adjustments using a metal lever located beneath the seat. To adjust the height, typically sit on the chair, pull the metal lever upward with your hand while slightly leaning back, allowing the seat to rise under the action of the gas lift; to lower the height, maintain your sitting posture and pull the lever while leaning forward to lower the seat. For front-back position adjustments, locate the metal lever at the front or side of the seat, lift it upward, and then move the seat forward or backward to the desired position before releasing the lever to secure it. This type of adjustment is suitable for most office chairs equipped with a gas lift and a sliding seat, offering simple operation and quick adaptation to different heights or sitting postures.
Foot Structure Adjustment Function
Some office chairs feature independent adjustment functions for the foot structure, with common types including:
- Swivel Adjustment Feet: Typically with a diameter of 70mm, these feet allow for fine angle adjustments by rotating or pressing the foot structure. For example, the swivel feet at the bottom of some five-star bases can swing forward and backward by about 15ยฐ to accommodate slight ground inclinations or user leg movements. To adjust, gently step on the edge of the foot with your foot, apply pressure to swing it to the desired angle, and it will automatically lock when released.
- Replaceable Adjustment Feet: The five-star base or four-leg base of some office chairs supports the replacement of adjustment feet of different specifications. Users can choose non-slip rubber feet or hard plastic feet based on the floor material (e.g., carpet, tile), or adjust the overall height of the chair by adding height-increasing pads. To replace, use a tool to unscrew the original foot screws, install the new accessories, and ensure they are securely fastened.
- Wheel Adjustment Feet: Some high-end office chairs are equipped with lockable casters on their feet, allowing for switching between fixed and sliding states by rotating the switch beside the wheels. To fix the chair, turn the switch to the 'lock' position; to move it, turn it to the 'slide' position. This design is suitable for scenarios requiring frequent position adjustments, such as open office areas.
Precautions
Before adjusting, confirm that the chair's structure supports the corresponding function to avoid damage from forced operation. If the chair's feet become loose or the adjustment fails, it may be due to component aging or improper installation. It is recommended to contact the manufacturer for original replacement adjustment feet or professional repairs.
