Office Chair Fixed Wood Installation

Admin October 11, 2026

The installation steps for the fixed wood (taking wooden legs as an example) of an office chair are as follows:

1. Prepare Tools and Accessories

Before installation, ensure that all accessories are complete, typically including wooden legs, foot pads, 4CM hexagon socket screws, support iron sheets, and matching tools (such as a hexagon socket wrench). The foot pads are used for anti-slip and protecting the floor. The screws need to match the hole positions on the support iron sheets to avoid installation failure due to size mismatches.

2. Attach Foot Pads

Stick the foot pads to the bottom of the wooden legs, ensuring a firm and even attachment. The attachment position of the foot pads should be adjusted according to the design of the wooden legs. Usually, they need to cover the entire bottom to distribute pressure and prevent the wooden legs from directly contacting the floor, which could cause wear or slipping.

3. Confirm Hole Orientation

When installing the wooden legs, pay attention to the orientation of the holes:

  • Holes at the bottom: Ensure that the center of gravity is stable after the wooden legs are connected to the support, preventing the chair from wobbling.
  • Large holes facing outward: For some designs, the large holes need to be aligned with the outer side of the support iron sheets so that when the screws are screwed in, a stable triangular support structure is formed. If the orientation is incorrect, the screws may not be fully screwed in or the connection may be loose.

4. Align with the Small Holes on the Support Iron Sheets

Align the installation holes on the wooden legs with the small holes on the support iron sheets. Keep the wooden legs vertical during this step to avoid hole misalignment. If the support iron sheets are made of metal, you can slightly adjust the angle to ensure a complete fit and prevent scratching the surface of the wooden legs when screwing in the screws.

5. Screw in the Hexagon Socket Screws

Use a hexagon socket wrench to screw the 4CM screws from the outside of the wooden legs into the hole positions on the support iron sheets until the screws are completely fixed and not loose. Maintain an even force when screwing in to avoid over-tightening, which could cause the screws to strip or the wooden legs to crack. If the wooden legs are made of multiple layers of boards, ensure that the screws penetrate all layers to enhance stability.

6. Repeat for Other Wooden Legs

Install the remaining wooden legs following the same steps. After installation, check that all wooden legs are level and stable. You can gently shake the chair to test the connection strength. If any looseness is found, re-tighten the screws or adjust the hole alignment.

Precautions

  • It is recommended to read the product manual before installation, as different models of office chairs may have different details.
  • If the wooden legs are made of solid wood, avoid installing them in humid environments to prevent wood deformation and affect the service life.
  • Regularly check the tightness of the screws. After long-term use, they may become loose due to vibration and require timely maintenance.
