Office Chair Fixed Base

Admin October 16, 2026

The installation of the fixed base of an office chair needs to be completed in three steps, with core steps including basic installation, base fixation, and overall connection. During operation, attention should be paid to the matching of component specifications and stability testing.

I. Basic Installation: Preliminary Assembly of Chair Wheels and Gas Lift

  1. Chair Wheel Installation: Insert each chair wheel into the assembly holes of the five-claw chair base one by one, ensuring that each wheel is fully embedded and free of looseness. Chair wheels usually adopt universal wheel designs. During installation, check whether the wheels rotate flexibly to avoid affecting subsequent use due to jamming.
  2. Gas Lift Placement: Flip the five-claw chair base so that the wheels face downward, and vertically place the thicker end of the gas lift against the central hole of the five-claw base. The gas lift is the core component for adjusting the seat height. Before installation, confirm that its specifications match those of the chair base (such as diameter and length), and check that the surface of the gas lift is free of scratches or air leaks.

II. Base Fixation: Precise Connection of the Seat Cushion and the Base

  1. Base Positioning: Place the base at the bottom of the seat cushion, paying attention to the orientation of the base (usually, there will be 'front' or 'back' markings on the base). The base is a key component connecting the seat cushion, gas lift, and backrest, and its structure must fully correspond to the screw holes of the seat cushion.
  2. Screw Pre-tightening: Align the four screw holes of the base with those of the seat cushion, and then easily screw in four B-type screws (usually M6 or M8 specifications) 3-4 turns one by one. Avoid fully tightening the screws in this step to facilitate subsequent adjustment of the base position.
  3. Tightening One by One: After confirming that the base position is correct, use a screwdriver to tighten the four screws one by one to ensure a firm connection between the base and the seat cushion. When tightening, maintain uniform force to avoid base deformation due to excessive tightness on one side.

III. Overall Connection: Final Fixation of the Base and the Gas Lift

Align the assembled seat cushion (including the base) with the top of the gas lift and vertically insert it into the base hole until a 'click' sound is heard or it feels fully inserted. In this step, ensure that the top end of the gas lift is fully embedded in the base hole to avoid seat wobbling due to poor contact. After installation, gently shake the seat to test its stability. If looseness is found, recheck the connection between the gas lift and the base.

Precautions:

  • Before installation, confirm that the specifications of all components (gas lift, base, chair base) match to avoid assembly failure due to size discrepancies.
  • The gas lift, base, and chair base are core components affecting stability. After installation, check whether the seat can be raised and lowered smoothly and whether it rotates flexibly.
  • If armrests or backrests need to be installed, do so after the base is fixed. Refer to the product manual for specific steps.
