Office Chair Fixation Issue
The issue of an office chair not being able to be fixed should be addressed according to the specific type of fault. Here are the common causes and handling methods:

Backrest Cannot Stand Upright or Be Fixed
If the backrest cannot stand upright due to a hydraulic system problem, check the hydraulic rod and transmission components. First, confirm whether the fixing screws are loose or damaged. Non-standard screws may cause the hydraulic rod to be obstructed in its movement. Replace them with standard screws and ensure the correct installation position. If the recline lock fails, adjust the right-hand handle or the chassis knob: Push the handle to the left to lock the backrest and pull it to the right to unlock. The cylindrical knob on the chassis adjusts the rebound force by rotation: turn it clockwise to increase and counterclockwise to decrease.
Backrest Wobbling
Loose connections between the backrest and the seat are a common cause. Step 1: Check the connecting screws. Tighten them if they are loose and replace them if they are damaged. Step 2: Add rubber gaskets at the connection points to reduce wobbling by increasing friction. Step 3: Apply strong glue to the gaps to assist in fixing the connection. If the wobbling is caused by damage to the internal support structure (such as broken wooden strips or loose metal rods), disassemble the backrest for repair or replace the components. Temporarily, you can wrap it with ropes or cloth strips for fixation, but be cautious about safety.
Seat Height Cannot Be Locked
If the gas rod is damaged, causing the seat to sink automatically, you can try emergency fixation: Raise the chair to its highest point and sit firmly to temporarily lock the height using pressure. Or use wooden blocks or hard plastic tubes to pad between the lifting rod and the five-star base to block the descent. The long-term solution is to replace the gas rod: Prepare pipe wrenches, rubber hammers, and lubricants. After purchasing a new gas rod according to the specifications, disassemble the old one and install the new one. If the adjustment locking mechanism fails (such as a loose handle or a broken physical locking part at the bottom), check and tighten or replace the relevant parts.
Loose Connecting Components
Loose screws/bolts connecting the seat chassis, gas rod, and five-star base can cause overall wobbling or sinking. Check and tighten all connection points one by one. Slight looseness can be solved by tightening the screws. If the screws are stripped or damaged, replace them with new ones of the matching specifications.
Tip: Before operating, confirm the structure of the chair to avoid causing secondary damage due to excessive force. If the problem is complex or involves internal parts, it is recommended to contact a professional repair person for handling.
