Office Chair Features

Admin October 08, 2026

Office chairs have features such as diverse types, rich adjustment functions, a variety of materials, high safety requirements, and a design focus on comfort and health.

Diverse Types: In a narrow sense, it refers to the backrest chairs used for desk work in a sitting position. In a broad sense, it covers all chairs used in offices, such as executive chairs and staff chairs. The mainstream core types of office chairs on the market include ergonomic chairs, which support the spine through adjustable headrests, lumbar supports, and armrests, making them suitable for long hours of desk work; mesh chairs offer good breathability, preventing stuffiness during long summer sits; leather or solid wood chairs focus on durability and appearance and are commonly seen in meeting scenarios, but their breathability is relatively weak. Computer chairs are mainly divided into types such as work chairs, student chairs, and mid-back chairs.

Rich Adjustment Functions: The headrests, lumbar supports, and armrests of ergonomic chairs are all adjustable. For example, the lumbar support should be able to be adjusted up and down by four to five centimeters to fit different body types; the armrests should at least be adjustable up and down, and it's even better if the headrest can rotate; the seat depth can also be adjusted. Short users can avoid pressure on the back of the knees, and tall users need to check if the headrest's height adjustment range is sufficient.

A Variety of Materials: The upholstery of office chairs includes materials such as hemp, mesh, and leather. Among them, mesh is breathable and prevents sweating, and high-elastic foam does not collapse after long sits; chair legs include nylon and aluminum alloy structures, which need to meet load-bearing and durability standards. It's best for the chair legs to be one-piece five-star legs, paired with silent wheels, providing both stability and no damage to the floor.

High Safety Requirements: For the gas lift, priority should be given to models that have passed international certifications. Level 3 or 4 certifications can effectively avoid the risk of breakage, and there should be a thickened explosion-proof steel plate to enhance personal safety protection.

Design Focus on Comfort and Health: The support must be precise, and the dynamic fitting design prevents the lumbar spine from hanging in the air. When test-sitting, one should simulate daily office postures to feel whether there is continuous support for the waist and whether the armrests naturally support the elbows; ergonomic computer chairs adopt ergonomic designs, and their usage methods should be as suitable as possible for the natural form of the human body, reducing fatigue caused by using tools.
