Office Chair Fault Repair
Office chair fault repair requires targeted measures based on different fault types. Common faults and repair methods are as follows:

1. Repair Method for Tilt to One Side
If the office chair tilts to one side, first check the condition of the casters. Step 1, place the chair upright or upside down and observe whether the wheels are in contact with the flat ground. If the casters are found to be bent, deformed, or damaged, the entire caster assembly needs to be replaced. Step 2, when removing the old casters, pull out each caster directly. If it gets stuck, use a flat-head screwdriver to assist in prying it out. Step 3, apply a small amount of lubricant (such as WD-40 or Vaseline) to each socket on the chair base to reduce friction. Step 4, use a rubber mallet to vertically hammer the new casters into the sockets to ensure a secure installation. Step 5, turn the chair upside down and test the new casters. If it still tilts, further check whether the seat plate is deformed or cracked, and replace it if necessary.
2. Repair Method for Failed Reclining Function
The failure of the reclining function is usually triggered by the locking mechanism. Step 1, check the locking button at the bottom or side of the chair (some models are located near the gas lift). Step 2, pull the button outward to release the locked state. Step 3, lean back against the chair and test whether the backrest can recline normally. If the problem is not resolved, check whether the gas lift is leaking or the internal spring is damaged. In such cases, contact a professional repair technician to replace the gas lift.
3. Repair Method for Damage (Taking Leather Replacement as an Example)
If the leather on the surface of the office chair is damaged, refer to the sofa refinishing process. Step 1, prepare tools (such as glue, disposable tape, and a utility knife) and clean the work area. Cover the ground with tape to prevent contamination. Step 2, carefully peel off the old leather, avoiding damage to the internal foam or frame. Step 3, cut the new leather according to the size of the original leather, leaving a 1-2 cm edge for pasting. Step 4, evenly apply special glue to the surface of the frame or foam, and smoothly attach the new leather. Use a tool to press the edges firmly. Step 5, trim the excess leather and test it for use after the glue has completely dried. If the damage involves a broken frame, first fix it with wood glue or a metal bracket, and then cover it with new leather.
Precautions: Before repair, disconnect the power or release the pressure of the gas lift (for electric chairs) to avoid accidental movement during operation. If the fault involves complex mechanical structures (such as the internal gears of the five-star base), it is recommended to contact the manufacturer's after-sales service or a professional repair team to prevent secondary damage.
